Chuck really can’t catch a break! It’s mostly Shaquille O’Neal who gives Charles Barkley a tough time teasing him, but he gives it back equally. During the 4x NBA champ’s absence, it’s Kenny “The Jet” Smith who takes over. One can imagine the pressure when both ‘The Jet’ and O’Neal team up to pull Chuck’s leg. It happened just recently, and the trigger for the antics was Barkley’s gigantic glasses, which were big enough to see L.A. from the TNT studio! At least that’s Smith jokingly described them as.

As Chuck took out his glasses and put them on to read something, it caught Smith’s attention. He was quick to point it out. And before Smith and O’Neal could start, Chuck called out, “Just for the record, I hate you, Jalen.” Many might recall that Rose recently replaced Smith for a segment on Inside the NBA.

It was during that time that Rose pointed out Chuck’s massive glasses, jokingly asking, “Are those welding glasses? Looking like Madea.” Madea is a character played by Tyler Perry, in the Madea franchise. The actor had to wear similar glasses with big rims.

No wonder it has started a string of jokes. Rose also commented on the post that shared the highlight. “My bad Chuck!!!” he wrote. Smith was urged to try on the glasses once. This time, Smith referred to the glasses as “TV glasses.” You look like you’ve got two 20-inch TVs. You got 228. On both sides. He’s a two 20-inch TV. Damn, dude,” he said.

As soon as he put them on,’ The Jet’ joked about being able to see LA from Atlanta with those glasses. “Wait, let me see, man. We’re in Atlanta right now. Oh, my God! What are they doing in LA? We’ll be right back. Oh, my God! Oh my God! Oh, hey kids. How you doing?” he said as he tried to control his laughter.

O’Neal, too, tried the glasses. These appeared massive on Shaq, who is known for making huge things look tiny in front of him. It seems that Barkley really has some issues, and this is probably why he wears such thick glasses with big rims. And this is perhaps also why he prefers clean glasses over his hygiene. The TNT camera crew caught him a few times.

Charles Barkley’s odd technique to clean his reading glasses

Everything about the Inside the NBA crew is unique. The hilarious antics of the cast have made the show endearing to fans. But Chuck has an even more bizarre technique for cleaning his reading glasses. Rather than using solutions or a cloth, the basketball legend uses his saliva to clean his glasses.

During a segment of Inside the NBA, O’Neal and Johnson caught Chuck licking his glasses to wipe them clean. When the crew began to troll him for his less-than-clean hygiene practices, the basketball legend defended his actions by saying that he prioritizes his vision over hygiene.

“That’s how I clean my glasses. I need to be able to see. It’s more important for me to see than worry about hygiene. I can’t do anything without you filming it,” the Philadelphia 76ers legend said.

Well, if you might think that it’s probably only his glasses, you’re wrong. He also cleans his phone the same way. The Inside the NBA crew once caught Barkley licking his phone to clean it!

While this may be the most unhygienic way to keep things clean, unsurprisingly, Chuck always has his own way of doing things!
