When it comes to honest and brutal takes, the NBA world can rely on Charles Barkley. Chuck has never shied away from sharing his brutally harsh opinions. Whether it’s players or the league itself, it’s rare for anyone to escape Chuck’s scrutiny. After the New York Knicks vs. Pistons game and the controversy involving NBA officials, Chuck shared his opinion on both. However, in the latest segment of the TNT show, the NBA legend ended up leaking a massive detail on the same.
Detroit’s narrow 94-93 loss in the playoff game to the Knicks came under scrutiny after the NBA admitted to making a mistake by not calling a foul on Knicks’ Josh Hart. Tim Hardaway Jr. used a ball fake to get Hart off his feet, and the latter seemingly made contact with the right side of Hardaway’s body as he was shooting. If the foul had been called, the result might have been different, with Tim Hardaway Jr. given three free throws.
But that didn’t happen. And while Chuck wasn’t fond of the confession, the 76ers legend mistakenly revealed the punishment of the refs involved. Speaking of the missed foul, Barkley shared that he had received a message from an NBA official that the ref might get suspended. However, he stopped before he could complete the word “suspension.”

“Hey officials are human. But a text I got from an NBA official says they can’t miss that call. The official was in the wrong place and he said ‘That was bad. and they’re going to get sus..something’s going to happen.’ They always do that stuff behind closed doors. But you cannot miss that call, plain and simple,” Chuck said. Right after the NBA admitted its mistake, he expressed his disappointment.
Chuck rightfully argued that this confession won’t help the Detroit Pistons. “The NBA, as much as I love it and it’s given me a great life, that’s the stupidest thing ever. Yeah, how does that thing actually help the Pistons coming out later? All you’re doing is throwing the referees under the bus,” Barkley said on Inside the NBA.

The Knicks now hold a 3-1 lead in the series after their victory, with Game 5 approaching. The refs became the next target of Chuck after the Golden State Warriors vs. Rockets game.
Charles Barkley had an issue with officiating in Warriors’ vs. Rockets Game
At halftime of Game 4 of Warriors vs. Rockets, the former were behind 57-50. However, the team managed to clinch a 109-106 win. Warriors star Draymond Green made a key defensive play, and Jimmy Butler grabbed a crucial rebound in the final seconds to help the team recover.

During halftime, Chuck expressed concerns about the referees mismanaging the game. “The refs let this game get out of hands in the first half,” he said on Inside the NBA. He also had issues with the Warriors losing their composure in the game. Stephen Curry was fouled by Dillon Brooks, which resulted in three technical fouls being handed out to the two star players, along with Draymond Green.
What’s your perspective on:
Are NBA refs ruining the game with missed calls, or is it just part of the sport?

“This is just a bunch of stupidity, this ain’t got nothing to do with basketball. These guys gotta settle down and play basketball. All that other stuff, nothing’s coming of it,” Barkley said. Butler scored 27 points. He had help from Brandin Podziemski, who added 26 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the deep. Curry contributed 17 points to lead the Warriors. The team currently holds a 3-1 lead over the Rockets as they look forward to Game 5
