Stephen Curry has been having an incredible season so far at the age of 35. But the rest of the players on the Golden State Warriors could not contribute to the best of their abilities. The team looks different from how it did in previous years. The young players are not ready, and the older players are not how they used to be.
This has led NBA legends Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to give their thoughts on what is really happening with the Warriors and why they have struggled so much early in the season.

In a recent video from KG Certified, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce talk about the current state of the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors have gotten off to a rough start this season. They are currently 10th in the West with an 8-9 record.
Garnett believes that this is because there is no one to help Curry. He has been doing most of the work, but players like Andrew Wiggins cannot lift up the team. But the main reason behind the team’s struggles is the most obvious one, and Paul Pierce explained it perfectly.
Paul Pierce believes this is because no player on the team is stepping up to help Stephen Curry. The younger players are not ready yet, and the rest of the experienced veterans are all older and on the decline.

Players like Draymond Green, Chris Paul, and Klay Thompson are not playing to their standards, and their age is showing. Pierce especially highlighted Thompson’s struggles. The Warriors have been consistently making deep playoff runs for almost 8 years. This has caught up to them, and now the team is on a decline.
The rest of the NBA has surpassed the Warriors now, and the GSW are no longer as young as they used to be.

The Warriors did not start off this way. Actually, they were one of the best teams in the NBA, with a 6-2 record through the first eight games of the season. Then they lost six games in a row. Stephen Curry missed a few games, and Draymond Green was suspended for five games. Furthermore, only recently another player from the team scored over 20 points, apart from Curry.
It is still early in the season, and it is not a good idea to dismiss the Warriors. Over the past few games, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins have shown glimpses of their former selves. As the team plays longer with Chris Paul, it is not long before the Warriors reach their full potential.
