Boston Celtics star Kendrick Perkins didn’t just celebrate Thanksgiving this year, but brought its spirit to life. The 2008 NBA champ partnered up with Keion and Shaunie Henderson to spread joy on the festival by giving back to the community. A series of photos on his official Instagram account showed him and his family engaging with various members of the community and handing out packages. Before we tell you what exactly these packages were, Perkins has a message for all his fans and followers on IG.
“Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it’s all about giving. And that’s exactly what we did this Sunday,” Perk captioned his post. He didn’t stop there. The Boston Celtics star extended a heartfelt thanks to Pastor Keion and Shaunie Henderson and the Lighthouse Church family for their unwavering love and support. He also gave a shout-out to KING OF THE COURT founder Chris Dennis and — his co-founded company — for making it all happen.

As per The Katy News, it was 300 families in Houston who got to feel the warmth of Perkins’ generosity. The Lighthouse Church and Ministries (TLHC), in partnership with Perkins, made sure Thanksgiving was a day to remember. As for the packages handed over, The Katy News reported they were meal kits, complete with turkeys, sides, and desserts.
It, however, wasn’t just about the food. Families were handpicked based on their needs, ensuring this gesture reached those who needed it most. To make the day even more special, they were invited to TLHC’s Sunday service as guests of Keion and Shaunie Henderson.
Clearly, it wasn’t just about giving meals but sharing moments, connection, and love. And speaking of love, Pastor Henderson summed it up well. “The Thanksgiving and Christmas season is a time for the Church to share love and God’s blessings with the community,” he said. And the recent gesture by Perkins, echoed this sentiment.

Looks like the O’Neal family has seen a fair bit of Perkins in the same sentence as the parents off late.
Kendrick Perkins has an interesting take on Shaquille O’Neal
Perkins has never been one to shy away from bold takes, but his recent list of the most dominant players in NBA history on ESPN’s NBA Today might leave some of you scratching your heads. He started off with Stephen Curry at fifth and then dropped the bombshell: Michael Jordan in fourth place. LeBron James followed at third, Giannis Antetokounmpo came in second, and Shaquille O’Neal topped the list.

Let’s talk about Shaq for a second. His position at number one isn’t exactly shocking. The man was a force of nature—breaking backboards, bulldozing through defenses and making it nearly impossible for anyone to guard him in his prime. But things get interesting with Jordan coming in at fourth. Six championships, a scoring machine, and a global icon who took basketball to unimaginable heights. Yet, Perkins placed him behind Giannis, who, while undeniably great, still has a long way to go in terms of accolades. Does Giannis, with one ring, really outrank MJ and LeBron on any list?
Maybe Perkins had his reasons like focusing on physical dominance. But the list is still likely to raise some eyebrows. For now, however, Perk’s focus is on celebrating the thankgiving spirit with Keion and Shaunie Henderson.
