It seems Kiyan Anthony is yet to leave another mark as a high school basketball star before college. If you’ve been following the journey of Carmelo Anthony‘s 17-year-old this year, you’d know he has had an impressive run. And now he is all set to lead a high school star-studded lineup at the 2024 ACES Hustle & Heart Classic (HHC).

Early in August this year, ESPN named Kiyan Antony as the No.1 high school recruit in New York State for the class of 2025. He had shone at the NBPA Top 100 Camp just weeks prior with a 40-point and a 30-point game. The recognition has now led him to another wonderful opportunity.

The announcement came through a collaborative Instagram post by ACES. “Only at ACES Player Spotlight… The LI Crusaders will be led by Kiyan Anthony, the #1 ranked player in New York — streaming live on the @NBA App,” read the caption.

As per SLAM Online, the action at ACES (HHC) kicks off this Friday with a media day featuring NBPA executives. The real excitement, however, will hit on Saturday at Elmcor Gym in Queens. The Girls National Showcase will start the day at 5 pm, where the NJ Crusaders face off against the DC Crimson Warriors. Then, at 7 pm, it’s Kiyan and the Long Island Crusaders against the Putnam Science Mustangs.

If you’re a fan of youth basketball, this sure is a matchup to watch. Especially considering that ACES has been shaping the future of basketball for years now. Over 30 NBA and WNBA players and 100 Division 1 athletes have come through its ranks, as per SLAM Online. This weekend, though, it’s about the young ballers dreaming of making it big.

Founder and CEO Brian Kortovich summed up the spirit of the event perfectly. “ACES was born from the grassroots of basketball. Earning its way into hoops cultural relevance by allowing athletes to tell their stories,” he said as per the SLAM Online article. And this weekend, it will be players like Kayden and Dylan Mingo, and Warren Keel who will be writing their own story while Kiyan Anthony leads the charge.

Carmelo Anthony’s 17-year-old to make the big decision by the end of this month?

In a recent interview with NBA draft analyst Krysten Peek, the 17-year-old revealed he has narrowed his list to three schools. Syracuse, USC, and Auburn. If you’ve been following Kiyan’s journey, you’ll know he was considering a wider pool of schools. This included Auburn, Rutgers, Florida State, and Ohio State.

In fact, he even visited USC on September 24 and Rutgers on October 4. And he reportedly had plans to check out more campuses. But now, it seems the focus is set. With his final choices down to three, it’s clear the decision is just around the corner.

The 17-year-old had hinted earlier that his announcement would come by the “last week of October or first week of November.” While the speculations are hard on him choosing Syracuse, the fans have no option but to wait. The other option is to catch up Carmelo Anthony’s son leading LI Crusaders at ACES HHC this weekend.
