Will Kiyan Anthony follow in his father's footsteps and choose Syracuse? What do you think?

At this point, Kiyan Anthony is simply teasing his fans. After his dazzling performance at the Nike EYBL, Kiyan has garnered quite a fandom. One of the major questions on everyone’s minds now is which college the Long Island Lutheran Guard will commit to. Those hoping Kiyan will follow in his father’s footsteps and join Carmelo Anthony’s alma mater might take a hint from his interest for a second visit to Syracuse.

In a recent conversation with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Kiyan teased his fans about his future plans. After he was asked about his first Syracuse visit experience, Kiyan said, “It was definitely crazy seeing everything with my dad, you know, everything named after him.” But his next statement is what might intrigue fans. “I’m looking forward to taking a second visit and then nobody knows, I might go there,” Kiyan noted.

As promised, Kiyan has revealed his top six college choices: Syracuse, Auburn, Ohio State, Florida State, Rutgers, and USC. The 6-foot-5 guard has spoken very highly of all these schools. However, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that Syracuse holds a particular advantage thanks to Melo’s legacy.

The 10x NBA All-Star played for Syracuse for one season, leading them to a National Championship in 2003. Kiyan has mentioned how his involvement could help the team get closer to another victory. However, he has clarified that his decision is not entirely influenced by the New York Knicks legend’s legacy. This is something deeper than that.

Kiyan Anthony has a great friendship with Syracuse coaches

The four-star recruit has mentioned that the team’s interest in his skills and talent is genuine and has nothing to do with Carmelo Anthony’s legacy, which has certainly caught his attention.

“I feel like they’re recruiting me for myself, and not just because of my father. That’s what I like. I just feel like they’re rebuilding, and they’re looking to get a winning team,” Kiyan said in a conversation with ZagsVlog.

Furthermore, Head Coach Adrian Autry and his assistants attended Kiyan’s first three games at EYBL to watch his performance. This has allowed Kiyan to understand the goals of the basketball program. The Syracuse Orange has really stepped up its game.

“Their whole coaching staff is listening to every game. That really shows their interest in me and what I can do on the court, not just because of my dad. They really invested in what I can do on the court,” Kiyan said. No wonder he is eager for a second visit. “I really like Syracuse,” he added. He also shares a great relationship with Elijah Moore, who gives him all the more reason to consider joining the team.

Kiyan also shares a strong friendship with Brenden Straughn, who has become a mentor to him. Although Syracuse appears to have an advantage, he has spoken positively about the other colleges as well that could support his growth, which makes it hard to predict Kiyan’s next destination.
