Sharing the spot with Carmelo Anthony, La La Anthony is undoubtedly the biggest supporter of her son, Kiyan. While this has been evident for ages, Nike’s EYBL league and the Top 100 camp are recent examples of this never-ending love and support. It extended on today with La La’s presence at yet another one of Kiyan’s games.

The 42-year-old shared multiple Instagram stories from the game that featured some of Kiyan’s highlight moments. While the first story included the 17-year-old attempting a lay-up, he had to rebound the miss himself and sink it in. The most impressive moment from the highlights was his impressive dunk. Notably, the game comes as a part of the ongoing Top of the Hill basketball tournament.

Even Carmelo Anthony himself was present at one of Kiyan’s games a few days back. It is worth mentioning that the 6’4 shooting guard has been having an impressive run for quite some time. He has shown tremendous growth through his performances at EYBL and the top 100 camp. Although Kiyan’s team Dallas Mavericks had a rough run at the top 100 camp, he averaged an impressive stat line of 28.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 8 games at the camp.

His highlight performance came against the Miami Heat with 42 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. La La Anthony took the moment as an opportunity to show her constant support. “42 points!!!! 😱😱😱😱 keep going crazy baby,” she wrote in her IG story. Even before the camp started, the 4-star guard had also received an invitation from the USA Basketball Men’s U17 National Team Training Camp.

The camp witnessed the participation of 34 players from which USA’s roster for 2024 FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup was to be chosen. Unfortunately, Kiyan failed to make it to the top twelve selected players. The roster reportedly includes Cameron Boozer, Cayden Boozer, Chris Cenac Jr., AJ Dybantsa, Jalen Haralson, Caleb Holt, JJ Mandaquit, Brandon McCoy Jr., Koa Peat, Jordan Smith Jr., Tyran Stokes and Jaden Toombs.

What does the future look like for Carmelo Anthony’s 17-year-old son?

He may have failed to make it to the 2024 FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup roster, but one cannot ignore Kiyan’s growth as a player. The 247Sports ranks him as a 4-star prospect, who stands as No. 9 shooting guard in his class. The 17-year-old already has offers from multiple universities like Tennessee Volunteers, Michigan Wolverines, and Syracuse Orange among others.

Kiyan has, however, only visited Florida State Seminoles and his father’s alma mater Syracuse Orange. Although he has plans to visit other institutes as well, speculations are strong that he may as well choose Syracuse. And the university has reciprocated a similar interest in the budding player.

Notably, Adrian Autry, the head coach for Syracuse men’s basketball himself, visited some of Kiyan’s games during EYBL. “Their whole coaching staff is listening to every game. That really shows their interest in me and what I can do on the court… They really invested in what I can do on the court,” Kiyan said in a post-game interview. Now it’s to be seen if the 17-year-old follows in to his father’s footsteps and moves to Syracuse itself.
