And her best friend, Kim Kardashian, who also suffers from the same condition, gave her the strength to speak about the painful skin condition.

At the beginning of the month, she shared a post in partnership with Amgen Bio-Tech. And once again, she became an advocate for people struggling with plaque psoriasis. In the same post, it was revealed that “La la was compensated by Amgen. She is not currently on medication.” Nearly 8 million Americans struggle with plaque psoriasis. That’s why she felt it necessary to tell her story.

There’s so many people dealing with the same thing. So I definitely thought it was a great idea to… get my story out there to help someone else that might be going through it too.” Because it is not contagious, this autoimmune condition can be very painful, forming red, scaly patches on any part of the skin, including the eyebrows and legs.

For La La Anthony, it was, “I had it really bad in my scalp and behind my ears, but my scalp is where I suffer from it the worst.” During the 2015 interview, she revealed that when she would continue to shoot for a scene, she would have her hair slicked all the way back. Thus, by slicking it back, it covered the flare-up for the time being. And to not hide it from the world, she needed advice from her best friend.

The thing I’ve taken from [Kim] is not to be afraid of it, not to be ashamed of it,” The BMF star spoke to People in 2015 “It’s something that we have; it doesn’t make us any less human, or weird or freaky. It’s about being open with what we have and being open with other people who are suffering from the same thing. If I was to take anything from her it would be that: to not be ashamed of it.

In the same interview, La La Anthony answered what triggered her flare-ups. “Stress is definitely one of those [triggers], but for me it’s when I get really excited.” Kim Kardashian had previously spoken about how the hectic lifestyle played a major role in her psoriasis condition.

So that’s why the Perfect Find Actress opened up about her condition to her 14.9 Instagram followers. And once again reiterated that not to be ashamed of psoriasis, instead speaking out about the same. Plus, she wants people to get the diagnosis as early as possible and not wait for a longer time like she did.
