Carmelo Anthony’s Collaboration with $220 Billion Giant Turns Sour As Kiyan Anthony Gets Snubbed Out of Massive Honor

He’s building his own,” Carmelo Anthony was full of praise for his son Kiyan Anthony last year. We all know what Melo has achieved in the NBA is not easy to replicate. But the way Kiyan has progressed over the last few years will only ease his NBA aspiration and who would be more happy than father Melo to see his next generation dominate the basketball court. However, just when everything seemed to be falling into place, a recent development has thrown an unexpected hurdle in the Anthony family’s plans. And Carmelo? Let’s just say that the NBA legend is ready to fight the world for his son.

Carmelo Anthony is quite upset about his son’s snub from the biggest high school basketball event. The 17-year-old has made major feats throughout the year that saw him quickly rise among the best players. He was ranked the No. 1 player in New York! However, despite the accolades, Kiyan was snubbed after he couldn’t meet one criterion of this tournament. This was heartbreaking and disappointing to both the fans and the former NBA player, who just recently signed a major collaboration.

During the latest segment of his podcast, 7 PM in Brooklyn, Melo expressed his frustration over Kiyan losing his spot at the McDonald’s All-American Game. Melo himself had been part of it back in 2002, and Kiyan getting in would have been special for the father and son. Dwyane Wade shared that Melo was so upset that he didn’t even reply when Wade texted him to talk about it. That’s when Melo revealed that he was even more upset because he had already inked a deal with the McDonald’s All-American Games.

“I did the McDonald’s deal! This is a wrap. I’m like okay. I’m being kind of a little optimistic and s–-. Then I’m like nah they gonna jerk them damn this was early like and they going to jerk them,” the New York Knicks legend said. “This kid ain’t lose in high school yet but in the senior year yet. (He) got the number one like they the number one team they the number three team in the country like what do we sitting here talking about how so that’s my perspective on it it. I think he got jerked. I think he deserved it. I think there’s a couple other kids who actually deserved it,” Melo added. 

Melo is repping the new meal for the fast-food chain, McDonald’s (valued at $220.41B as per Macrotrends). “What’s up everybody listen this is the first-ever McDonald’s all-american games happy meal box this is official first time ever it’s right here seriously it’s right here and you already know my favorite thing out here is the McNuggets and the toys,” Melo says in the clip.

In the latest commercial clip, Melo gorges on the McDonald’s All-American Games Happy Meal. This is the first-ever collaboration, which will start on March 11. Not just Melo, but other McDAAG alums are also part of the kids’ meal. Angel Reese, Sabrina Ionescu, and Aaron Gordon also feature in commercials for the collaboration.

These meals will be accompanied by six unique hoop toys, as well as a mini basketball, trick-shot launcher, stickers, and much more. Even though Melo recently posted one of the commercials on his IG Stories, he still feels mad about the snub.

Frustration and shock on Melo’s part are obvious. Considering Kiyan’s stellar performance throughout the year, it was expected that he would be selected for the tournament. A special committee votes for the elite high school players in the boys’ and girls’ categories. But there are certain criteria.

Kiyan’s name wasn’t on the list of 24 high school players, and the reason might be the 17-year-old’s absence from the game for nearly a month. During a game against St. Joseph’s Collegiate, he suffered a minor strain on his back after a fall that caused him to miss many games.

As per the rules, a player must have played 50 percent of the games in their senior year to be eligible. This must have led to the disaster. Cameron Boozer, Cayden Boozer, AJ Dybantsa, and Alijah Arenas are some of the names on the roster. While Kiyan lost this chance to make history this time, he will have another in the future at Syracuse.
