Never before has the NFL’s inner sanctum been so exposed. Hard Knocks ripped back the curtain, revealing the raw, unfiltered drama of an offseason that changed everything for the New York Giants. But with unprecedented access comes unprecedented scrutiny. Did the Giants’ bold move pay off, or did they inadvertently hand their rivals the playbook? Carmelo Anthony, watching from the sidelines, has a brutally honest answer.

We’re talking about the New York Giants. The rage of the HBO series is still not over. And it left the NFL franchise which is worth more than $7 billion open to criticism and ridicule after broadcasting their team’s inner workings to the public. What does New York Knicks legend Anthony think about it? Does he support this big risk, where NFL teams expose the heart of their organization to the public? Perhaps not.

“That’s just bad management at that point if that’s the case like if you got to I’m f–- out of here. I don’t need from the standpoint of that like that s–- is needed.” Melo said. “Maybe because I’m speaking from the outside now but like it’s needed to have that glimpse of what’s actually happening and how this s–- is being built and what’s happening and like I think they do a hell of a job with that now it’s up to the team to give them access that they want to give them so some teams say here we need the PR! we need the the spotlight on our team! like we a– over here so let’s just bro film all of this s–-!” Melo explained

Having entered free agency multiple times, he is well aware of how important these meetings are and what goes on during these conversations. He knows a thing or two about whether a team should reveal its process or not. While Melo seemingly supported the Giants for making this bold decision, he also explained why other teams wouldn’t be interested in doing the same.

Even for viewers, it was refreshing to watch the conversations between players and the team. It wasn’t easy with the cameras rolling. One major discussion that caused waves involved whether the Giants should let Saquon Barkley walk away in free agency. This is what Melo hinted at as well! In the end, Barkley joined the Philadelphia Eagles. Not to forget, this decision ultimately changed the course of the 2025 NFL season! What about the other teams? Has any NFL franchise shown interest?

Did the Giants' Hard Knocks exposure hand their rivals a strategic advantage, or was it a bold move?

Have an interesting take?

Are NFL teams scared of the offseason version of Hard Knocks?

It is obvious why and how the HBO series might cause a sense of awkwardness among the other teams. While the Giants were the first team to gear up for the job, they might be the last until a different team volunteers.

We hope it’s back. We’re talking to a bunch of teams about it. But we’ll see what happens. I mean, we need a willing participant on that one. We’re not going to force someone to do that show,” NFL Films VP Cossrow said. The general manager of the Giants, Joe Schoen, is still asked about his decision to let go of Barkley.

At the NFL Combine, Schoen expressed that he is happy for Barkley. However, the question will continue to be hurled at him, considering how the decision didn’t work out for the Giants. Barkley became a crucial piece and ultimately led the Eagles to victory. Schoen was also asked about the show and whether any team had approached him for advice on doing it. No team has yet and it remains a doubt whether any team will!
