What happens when Giorgio Armani returns to New York City after almost a decade-long gap? You get a night of glamor, luxury, and some serious star power—Carmelo Anthony included. Armani’s comeback show at the Park Avenue Armory on Thursday night was no less than any of this, drawing in 650 guests. And yes, it’s safe to say that Melo was thrilled to be there.
For those wondering about Melo’s look for the night—imagine him in a black velvet bomber jacket, paired with a black shirt and trousers. And a diamond-studded Hublot watch on the wrist. When asked about his style choice, he summed it up perfectly—“It’s just me… It’s how I express myself, feel good, and have a little fun while I’m at it.”
Given that the former NBA star owns a fashion label of his own, it’s safe to assume that he knows a thing or two about fashion. For those unaware, Carmelo Anthony’s apparel and lifestyle brand is called STAYME7O. Defining the core identity of his brand, in an interview with GQ, Melo once stated, “Mindset is everything”. Something that resonated in his look at the Armani event as well.

But let’s be real—this recent event wasn’t just about the outfits. Armani’s return to NYC meant something bigger. After all, the reopening of Armani’s Madison Avenue flagship is no small feat. Imagine a stunning space that combines Giorgio Armani and Armani/Casa boutiques, luxurious residential units, and an elegant Armani/Ristorante, all under one roof.
It’s the kind of revival that puts a $12.9 billion brand back at the heart of New York’s fashion scene. And Melo was right there to soak all of it in. “This is a major event,” the 10x All-Star emphasized. “This is a major night for just fashion, myself, and Giorgio Armani and what they’re doing…” he added. No wonder Kiyan Anthony has himself got a great love for fashion and is following in his father’s footsteps in the fashion industry as well.
Carmelo Anthony’s 17-year-old has big plans for his own clothing brand
If you haven’t heard, Kiyan launched his own clothing line called One Way in February last year, and it’s already turning heads. Now, the 17-year-old has got some big dreams for the brand. In fact, he’s even aiming for a collaboration with none other than Drake.
Sounds ambitious? Sure, but he seems serious about doing something on a similar scale. And while teaming up with a superstar like Drake would take some serious cash—especially if Kiyan wants to pull it off without his father’s help—he’s already managed to connect with some pretty big names.
The 17-year-old’s efforts have drawn support from the basketball world, including Orlando Magic’s Cole Anthony, who has spent time practicing with him. PJ Tucker, another NBA player, also backed “One Way” during its collaboration with Got Sole—a popular sneaker and streetwear convention.

In a recent episode of Overtime’s Evolution, Kiyan offered insight into his vision for the brand. “One Way, it’s a clothing brand, but we’re really trying to promote a whole lifestyle, not just clothes,” he said. It’s clear that both father and son follow similar passions, from basketball to fashion.
