Most NBA athletes retire in their mid thirties. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is not most athletes. One of the greatest scorers in NBA history, Kareem played until the ripe old age of 42! Point guard extraordinaire Magic Johnson featured alongside the man in question for many years and the Los Angeles Lakers duo won 5 rings together. Magic recently went online to express his excitement about spotting Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the big screen.
The Showtime Lakers are considered by many as the greatest basketball dynasty of all time. Johnson established as the best point guard in the NBA with his unparalleled court vision. But he had the services of arguably the greatest big in NBA history.

Magic Johnson hails 2nd highest scorer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
The Tower from Power is one of the top three scorers of all time with well over 38,000 points in the league. Jabbar, previously Lew Alcindor, retired three decades ago in 1989. One might wonder what the Lakers legend might be up to these days. Well, now we have an idea.
Kareem was recently spotted in a controversial television show, which was cancelled previously due to lack of viewership, called Billions.

Magic took to Twitter/X to congratulate Kareem on his acting stint. He wrote, “While I was watching one of my favorite shows Billion, my Showtime teammate made a guest appearance. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was excellent in his role. To my Captain, job well done! @kaj33”
Notably, Kareem starred in the 1980 comedy film Airplane! and the 1978 Bruce Lee starrer Game of Death. Most recently, he had a cameo in Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
Billions started in 2016. In episode 3 of season 7, Kareem doles out some advice about confidence to the main character Chuck Rhoades, portrayed by Paul Giamatti.

Kareem ended his career as the league’s all-time leading scorer. His record wasn’t broken until February of this year. As great as Kareem was, teammate James Worthy once made his pick between him and Magic Johnson.

James Worthy picked between Magic and Kareem
James Worthy in a conversation was asked to pick any player if he was to start a team.
The 7-time NBA champion said, “If I had to choose one player to start my team in the whole wide world, Kareem obviously is dominant, but if I had to pick one player, I’d have to pick Magic Johnson, because he gonna get everybody get there.”

James Worthy made it clear that he’s gonna go with Magic as he makes everyone better. “He gonna enhance everybody.”
