“The Bulls ain’t going to be good before I’m dead.”
Despite a more energetic performance and greater effort, the Bulls weren’t able to clinch the win. The team ended up extending their losing streak to five games. The Bulls also lost a reserve forward in the first quarter after he suffered a facial injury. If anyone is more disappointed than Bulls fans, it’s Sir Charles. He even made a bold prediction for the team as he detailed his own miseries of missing out on Chicago delicacies.
Charles Barkley didn’t wish to go to San Francisco because of the rats. He doesn’t wish to go to the Galveston beaches as he feels that the place isn’t clean enough. But it seems there’s one place he wants to visit. While discussing the Bulls’ loss against the New York Knicks, Chuck admitted he might never be able to visit a close friend in Chicago again. “I got a friend in Chicago named David owns a restaurant. It’s one of my favorites. I’m never going to see it again,” Barkley said. His disappointment wasn’t just about missing out on a meal. The Bulls’ latest loss against the Knicks only reinforced his concerns about the team’s struggles

When his co-host asked him why, the basketball legend explained that it was because he felt the Bulls wouldn’t improve before his death. “The Bulls ain’t going to be good before I’m dead,” he explained. Well, that’s certainly a disheartening statement. Unfortunately for the Bulls, their performance against the Knicks did little to prove him wrong. While the Bulls’ five-game losing streak doesn’t look good, the team has been pulling out all the stops.

The Bulls’ effort was evident in their 113-111 loss against the Knicks. While Josh Giddey had 27 points, Nikola Vucevic added 21 points to lead the team. Giddey took an early lead in overtime with his three-pointer, but the Knicks quickly took control, as Towns’ dominated with his scoring streak. But Chuck has always had a bit of an odd way to motivate a team. This isn’t the first time Barkley has taken a shot at the Bulls. Just last season, he had even harsher words for the franchise.

Chuck and his thoughts on the Bulls go way back
After going 5-14 in an unimpressive start last season, the Bulls struggled to keep up despite having some of the best players. And Barkley has been their harshest critic. Months ahead of the Chicago Bulls‘ Ring of Honor ceremony, the basketball legend questioned the delay. “Were they waiting on Michael and the guys to die before they come up with the Ring of Honor,” Barkley stated.

Along with that, he also criticized their performance. “First of all, the Bulls are an embarrassment to the NBA. I have zero idea what they’re doing. They should’ve had a clearance sale 3 years ago. Dude, y’all stink, y’all stink, y’all stink,” Barkley said.
Back in an interview with ESPN Chicago, the Phoenix Suns legend claimed that the fans of Bulls’ rival teams wouldn’t have encouraged such a performance. “If the Celtics were playing that bad or the 76ers or the Knicks were playing that bad, the fans would burn down the stadium. There is no way what’s happening with the Bulls they would let go in Philly, Boston, or New York. There is no way possible,” Chuck said. After trading Zach LaVine, the Bulls are aiming for a rebuild. But as Chuck suggests, can they pull it off before it’s too late?
