The comparison of Michael Jordan with the stars who came after him is nothing new. From Kobe Bryant to LeBron James, the GOAT debate still exists today, despite the Bulls legend last stepping on the hardwood in 2003. But can the comparison be valid when the said player only recently had his career-high performance? The player in question is Bronny James, who many, including Stephen A. Smith, feel is part of the league only because of his father’s influence. However, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr doesn’t care about those debates and compared the 20-year-old with the 6x NBA champion.

bronny > michael jordan.” The American rapper’s recent appearance is on the new Netflix series, Inside. The tweet was after the career-high performance of the Lakers rookie against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Jasmine BRAND also covered DDG’s tweet on Instagram. The page has close to 900k followers and added a post “DDG declares Bronny James is a better player than Michael Jordan.” It would be fair to say that the 27-year-old has some bias when it comes to the Lakers players. He was excited for them after the Lakers drafted the 23-year-old in the second round.

This shit so hard 😭🔥🔥🔥.” This tweet was back in May, as he quotes a Bleacher Report tweet. “LAKERS TAKE BRONNY JAMES AT NO. 55 IN THE 2024 DRAFT 🔥 Welcome to the league 👏 (via @ShamsCharania ).” But that is not the only connection that the rapper/YouTuber shared with the James family. Born in Michigan, DDG would later move to Los Angeles for better work opportunities. In fact, he was once part of the birthday celebration for Bronny and put up an impromptu show for the audience, which he described being “LIT.”

However, he felt that the 4x NBA did not know him at the time. “Na, not LeBron James, I don’t think LeBron James know me for real. I shook him up, but I don’t think he know me. But Bronny know me, Bronny sent me the invite.” In a conversation from 2022, DDG appeared on the Zach Sang Show and spoke about meeting the Lakers superstar and his family.

It’s not just the rapper showing love to Bronny James! Recently, one of the harshest critics of King James sided with the Lakers rookie after his explosive performance against the Bucks.

$100 million ESPN analyst changes his stance on Bronny James

While the LA Lakers ended up suffering a blowout loss to the Milwaukee Bucks Thursday, Bronny made the most of his time. The team did not feature LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves. Both rookies, Dalton Knecht and Bronny got an extended opportunity. Both made the most of his time on the floor, posting a career-high 17 points. For the USC alum, it was even better because he was on 7-for-10 shooting from the field.

This performance even had Stephen A. Smith admit his take on the 20-year-old. “My position was all along, Bronny James needs to be in the G League,” Smith said. “Let him be in the G League his first year, then after that, let him come on because I’ve always believed that this kid has the potential, once I watched him, to be in the NBA.” But previously he believed the only reason why the Lakers rookie was in the team was because of his father.

“Stop this. We all know that Bronny James is in the NBA because of his dad.”And that one dig is the mother of all issues which escalated as LeBron James confronted the ESPN analyst courtside. It was the same day it was announced that he had signed a $100 million deal to stay with the network.
