Carmelo Anthony on his podcast spoke about his reaction to Kiyan favoring LeBron James, “Hope he don’t think that sh**.” Now, the father and son have appeared in a video together. As Kiyan clears the air regarding his 2v2 winners, Melo seems to have made another hilarious remark at his former Lakers teammate.

Overtime on X uploaded the clip where they first reacted to Carmelo’s comment. Carmelo Anthony replied to the original 2v2 post, saying “Kiyan remember you have to come home tonite 😂😂😂😂.” Then the clip cut to the exact words his son had said while preferring LeBron. Kiyan came out clean instantly, “I mean I was trolling for real.” Later, Kiyan asked his father about the scoreline that might have been if they had faced LeBron and Bronny James 2v2.

Kiyan also hinted towards his father, “Think they both in the league, none of us in the league.” Carmelo Anthony replied, “Yeah no no no that both in the league I get that. They just not one-on-one guys. Saw the game probably never happened because LeBron don’t play one-on-one.” Even after mildly dissing LeBron, he praised the James Jr saying, ” You know Bronny is not considered to be a one-on-one player. But he can score. He is very talented, very skilled. He is a pro.”

The 17-year-old shared, “I think Bron and Bronny will win, to be honest just because Bron is still in the league.” the latter part of LeBron being in the league was directly aimed at his father who had retired just a year ago. “He’s still doing what he doing. But it’ll be a close game. I feel like it’ll be an 11-8.”

While Carmelo very well understands the intention behind his son not choosing him, it was not the first time either. A few months ago Kiyan had once again ignored his father in rankings.

In a video shared in late February by Complex Sports, they appeared on a segment the GOAT TALK, where they had to choose the greatest basketball player of all time. La La Anthony picked her son as her GOAT, there is no controversy for a mother selecting her son as number 1. But what happens when Kiyan chooses someone else over Carmelo Anthony?

Kiyan without any hesitation picked Paul George as his top pick while picking Kobe Bryant second. Thus, he earned a stern look from his mother who was sitting across the table. “My GOAT is Paul George. Paul George is the best player ever. Kobe. Paul George…Carmelo Anthony.” La La threw a few papers from the table at Kiyan for not saying Carmelo’s name first.

That’s why on his podcast, Carmelo Anthony hyped up his son, “He keeps me alive though. He keeps me going. He keeps it lighthearted,” knowing that Kiyan chose LeBron over him is a running joke.
