Even before the 2024 NBA Draft, people were critical of Bronny James. His disappointing display in the Summer League hasn’t been much of a help. But despite an underwhelming performance at Las Vegas, many still believe in Bronny’s potential transformation. Amongst those is the NBA legend Reggie Miller who has nothing but one request for the fans.
“Bronny has grown up in NBA locker rooms. His whole life was coming to work with Dad. Now will that translate into greatness? Obviously we’ll see but it’s going to take some time because he’s not 6’8 and 230-240 like LeBron he is 6’1 so it’s going to be an adjustment and I think people need to be patient,” Miller said, featuring on USA Today Sports.
While Bronny is being criticized for his summer League performances, Miller assured that it’s only the experience and the development that LeBron’s son needs right now. “I know people are falling off buildings looking at his Summer League numbers. People, it’s Summer League. No one cares those numbers won’t translate to the fall when it’s Veterans Camp no one cares, it’s all about the experience in the Summer and it’ll take some time, it just will so people please pause on the Bronny hate and appreciate what we’re witnessing,” Miller added.

Bronny James’ Summer League stats weren’t impressive overall, as he averaged 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.8 steals per game, and 0.5 blocks per game. However, the 19-year-old showed improvement as the tournament progressed. While he wasn’t at his best initially, his performances in the last two games against Atlanta and Cleveland were relatively better.
In a promising 87-86 win against the Atlanta Hawks, Bronny hit his first 3-pointer in the Summer League. Breaking the disappointing streak of 16 misses, he scored 12 points in the game, and then against the Cleveland Cavaliers, he scored 13 points, hitting 8 in the first half, with 5-of-10 shooting from the field and 5 rebounds, as the Lakers notched up a 93-89 victory. But, despite his improvement, one of Bronny’s teammates was frustrated. Let’s find out why.
Bronny James’ teammate was frustrated
An anonymous player, who played alongside Bronny James in the Summer League, claimed that the 19-year-old was treated differently. As per the source, this caused tension among the teammates, resulting in less chemistry during the games. He also said that the other members of the team shared a similar opinion on Bronny.“I mean, he was treated as someone apart, not like all of us, and that is very annoying as we didn’t feel any chemistry in this group of players,” the anonymous player was quoted in an article by Steve Brenner and Damian Burchardt of The US Sun.
Bronny’s teammate further stated that LeBron’s son might not be ready for the NBA yet. Well, he isn’t the first one to doubt Bronny’s ability. Many have expressed a similar opinion. However, in the last two games of the Summer League, Bronny indeed showed promising signs. Do you think he will be able to continue to level up his game the same way and prove his doubters wrong in the NBA? Share your thoughts in the comments.
