A certain NBA Champion knows what it takes to be the absolute best in the sport of basketball. Having won almost every accolade there is to win including the DPOY and MVP recognition, the Boston Celtics legend knows what it takes to be great at the game of basketball. Recently, in a conversation with his Hall of Famer teammate, he opened up on the importance of featuring for Team USA.

The man in question is part of the elite batch who won a gold medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics. The former MVP elaborated on the importance of featuring for the international team to level up his skills.

The Big Ticket won his maiden NBA title in 2008 alongside Paul Pierce. OG Basketball fans would agree that Garnett got better in the game of basketball over the years he spent in the NBA. In a conversation with Pierce, recently he opened up about how featuring for Team USA can improve one’s game.

Kevin Garnett said, “I’m big on trying to find games. I’m big on trying to better myself. You’re not going to find better basketball competition than Team USA in the summer. And some of those runs were just. Like the practices, the workouts, the knowledge that’s passing…You’re around great players that’s open, that’s sharing and helping each other.” He added, “I thought I was working out until I saw Zo and Dennis Rodman work out.”

Considering how USA has won 16 medals in 19 Olympic appearances, the level of play is clearly high. KG could hardly ask for a better group to learn from.

Garnett made it clear that the international team is the place where all the great minds collaborate. He made sure to praise Chicago great Dennis Rodman who taught him the real meaning of working out. Garnett who’s best known for his stint at the Boston Celtics.

Everyone knows about Garnett’s time at the Boston Celtics when he played a vital part in Celtics’ 2008 championship run, but not everyone is aware of how Garnett ended up in Boston in the first place.

Kendrick Perkins said, “Doc called me, ?Aye we trading Al Jefferson. We?re getting KG.’?. Who the fu** we trading Al Jefferson for? We can make this happen. Just give us time.”?

Perkins made it clear that Doc Rivers was adamant about trading for Kevin Garnett in place of Al Jefferson. Seems like a good move since it landed them a chip.
