Recently, in an interview, the billionaire shared how one of his plans to bring a Boston Celtics veteran into the team failed for one reason.

Paul Pierce almost got traded to the Dallas Mavericks

During the conversation, one of the hosts, Matt Barnes asked the billionaire businesses about the famous trade that never happened. Previously, there were rumors about the Celtics legend Paul Pierce getting traded to the Dallas Mavericks. However, many weren’t aware of it since the trade never happened.?

During the conversation, Cuban confirmed that indeed, the team had plans to acquire the ?Truth.? Moreover, it was a confirmed deal. However, due to certain conditions that required another first-round pick from the Mavericks, the franchise had to drop the trade.

He explained, ?We traded for Paul Pierce, we were on the trade call for Paul Pierce. It was a three-way with Boston Atlanta and us and we had told Atlanta where you know what the deal was going to be but we didn’t tell them it was with Boston.?

He added, ?We get on the trade call and Atlanta says no you got to throw in a first-round?we didn’t have another first to throw in.?

The legend himself mentioned it in one of his interviews with the cast. Much to fans’ dismay, Pierce never went to Dallas.

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett praised Mark Cuban

The trade involving Pierce was meant to bring another strong player alongside Dirk Nowitzki. Even if the Truth was not in his prime, he was still great with his game. The former Celtics legend also had similar plans to join the team.?

During a conversation in the podcast, ?KG Certified,? Pierce praised Cuban. Both Kevin Garnett and the athlete agreed about the billionaire’s generous kind gestures.
