Celtics star Jaylen Brown agreed to a whopping $304 million Supermax contract extension recently. It is the biggest contract in league history. The previous record was held by Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, who received $264 million last year.
Brown was eligible for a ?Supermax extension? after making the All-Star team and the All-NBA team last season. Fans were unhappy with the decision. Many people took to social media to share their disapproval, stating that the Celtics overpaid to keep Brown within their confines. From bringing up his weak left-hand skills to his poor off-ball defense, the 26-year-old was being attacked from all sides. Even controversial political commentator Ben Shapiro made his voice heard regarding the decision.

In light of the backlash that Brown is receiving, former Celtics star Garnett stepped up to defend the player however he could. NBA Central, a Twitter handle with over 1.2 Million followers, recently shared a rumor which stated that a few ?front office members? of the NBA hold the opinion that Jaylen Brown is the ?3 or 4 or 5? best player that the Boston Celtics currently hold.
The Big Ticket?retweeted the post in order to share his opinion with his 121000 followers. He wrote in the caption ?Huh? Bron, KD and Steph play for Boston now? Tf.? The retweet has received more than 926900 views as of now. KG clearly believes that Brown deserved his big pay day. According to him, there aren’t a lot of players better than Brown in the NBA currently.

The two players have built a rapport over the past few years. While Garnett was abusive to Brown during his rookie days, the latter still held the legend in high regard. Brown has gone on to admit that he feels ?definitely inspired by Kevin Garnett?. Furthermore, the 2x NBA All-Star has stated that by modeling his approach like Garnett?s, he wishes to be compared on a similar level to the 15x NBA All-Star.
