Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most genuine superstars out there in the league. Despite all the praise that has come his way, Giannis feels that there is more to learn and more ways to improve. Making his podcast debut, the Greek Freak recently revealed his plans to learn under the instructions and guidance of a former NBA star. This decision irked a former Washington Wizards star, who took to social media to express his frustration.

Giannis has come a long way ever since making his NBA debut in 2013. The skills and prowess he displays on the court have become the talk of the town amongst basketball fans and enthusiasts.

Former NBA star criticizes Giannis Antetokounmpo’s decision

A few hours ago, Gilbert Arenas took to his official Instagram account to share a story with his 985,000 followers. In it, the former player had attached a preview of his latest YouTube video with a custom caption that read “Greak Save Ur Money”. The episode kicked off with Arenas touching base on how Giannis Antetokounmpo may be looking to take training sessions from Houston Rockets icon Hakeem Olajuwon.

The Dream famously had training sessions years ago with NBA icon LeBron James for almost $50,000 per session. Arenas criticized the possible move by Antetokounmpo, stating that it would do him no good to learn from someone who allegedly specializes in moves that were popular in the 1990s.

The former Wizards star then went on to mock Olajuwon by mimicking his on-court moves. Stating that he was providing this lesson to Antetokounmpo ?for free?, Arenas proceeded to keep the ball at a certain angle, held it close to his stomach, and even spanked it at some point. ?I?m sorry but nobody doing this sh*t no more,? Arenas said during his episode.

If the on-court move criticism wasn?t enough, Arenas even criticized Olajuwon for the money he reportedly took from the people who approached him for guidance. ?You should be ashamed of yourself, charging these young whipper snappers 50,? Arenas added. Nevertheless, why does Giannis want to take lessons after all these years?

‘The Greek Freak’ wishes to improve his game

It all started a week ago when Giannis Antetokounmpo sat down for an interview on the ?48 Minutes? podcast. Planning to become even more unstoppable in the upcoming NBA season, Antetokounmpo revealed his plans to join a training camp within the next few days. This involved taking a trip to Houston and learning under the eye of Hakeem Olajuwon.

?I love his game, and if I can kind of take a few things from his game or learn anything from the few days I?m going to spend with him, it?s going to be a blessing,? Giannis stated.

The 2021 NBA champion isn?t the only one who has gone down this path. Lakers legends like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant have also taken some time off to practice and learn under the guidance of the 2x NBA champion.
