The difference between Houdini and the Amazing Shaq is who actually disappears. His old friends shared a throwback to one of his old magic tricks in the good ol’ times of Shaq Life on TNT. One of the highlights of the show was when Shaquille O’Neal hung out with his best friend, Kai, and Kai’s dad, Alex. One of the moments that were not seen on the show was magician Shaq. Kai’s mother, Nancy brought it back for everyone to see O’Neal’s stalled magician career.

Back when Kai was a little tinier than he is now, he served as the prop of The Amazing Shaq’s previously unseen magic act, ‘Baby Disappear.’ With the support of Kai’s “lovely mommy,” and some self-produced sound effects, the giant in his Superman shirt made baby Kai disappear behind a blanket. And to prove the efficacy, he wrapped the blanket around him to show he’s no longer behind it.

Now a magician never reveals their secrets. But it’s not hard to figure out Shaq’s. All that beatboxing and blanket smokescreen couldn’t cover up the sound of him dropping Kai to the floor maybe a tad too hard behind the blanket. That’s why magicians say don’t do this at home.

Kai is a little bigger now and a big brother. He won’t disappear so easily anymore. It doesn’t change his cute bond with the big kid.

Kai was the scene stealer of Shaq Life that premiered in 2020 and went on for two seasons. His attachment to O’neal was adorable as much as Shaq playing with him. His mother has an entire Highlight on her page of the family’s bond with Shaq.

The Amazing Shaq’s amazing assistant

Kai’s dad, Alex Gonzalez, had a barber shop in Miami that the then Miami Heat champ frequented. They became fast friends and Alex is just as close to Shaq’s six kids as he is to Kai. Over time, Gonzalez realised his larger entrepreneurial dreams while also working as an executive assistant in Shaq Inc since 2005.

On Shaq Life, the giant showed up to help Alex and his family on their fixer upper. O’Neal has experience renovating homes but not with his own hands because he was not exactly handy at the task. Since Alex couldn’t count on him to paint the walls, he was in charge of Kai. But even Kai was a handful dazzled by Big Diesel’s big cars.

There seems to be a shortage of Big Shaq and little Kai sightings lately. Now that this throwback is out there, we need Shaq and Kai to redo the ‘Baby Disappear’ trick once more.
