The Indiana Pacers have been a surprising dark horse due to their exceptional performances this season. All the credit for that goes to the 23-year-old guard who has completely changed the game style and taken the lead of his team. This All-Star guard has managed to average more than 25 points and 11 assists this season making him a contender in the MVP race. Now due to his spectacular performances, he is being compared to the likes of Stephen Curry and one former basketball player even feels that he is the “Best PG” of this season.
Former point guard, Jeff Teague recently made this declaration on his Club 520 podcast.

Jeff Teague, the host of the Club 520 podcast spoke about how crazy the basketball scene has been so far. There, the 520 squad asked him whether he thinks Tyrese Haliburton is the best point guard in the NBA right now. To that Teague said, “He’s having the best season as a point guard for sure. I’m not going to say he’s better than Steph, I’m not going to say he’s better than Dan. But as far as who’s having the best season so far at that PG position, Tyrese Haliburton is that dude.”
They further asked him if Haliburton would be an All-Star starter, to which Teague instantly replied “He won’t get no votes. He should be, but he won’t get no votes. But I think he will be an All-NBA player this year.” To a large extent, the success of the Pacers depends on how well Haliburton plays that night. The team holds a record of 5 wins and 3 losses if he makes more than 12 assists in the game.
Not just as a playmaker but when he manages to score more than 30 points, the team holds a +44 point differential. This showcases the versatility of the All-Star’s domination on both ends of the court. His unique combination of scoring, passing, and vision has not only cemented his status as one of the top guards in the NBA but has also established him as a cornerstone for the Pacers’ success. So, if Haliburton is one of the frontrunners for MVP and is being called the best PG of this season, what has happened to Stephen Curry?

The Warriors going through a rough patch
The Golden State Warriors are on a three-game losing streak following an impressive 6-2 start to the season, prompting worries among fans and experts alike. Despite Stephen Curry’s outstanding performances in back-to-back defeats against the Cavaliers and Timberwolves, the Warriors have failed to find an offensive balance. As the team is unable to find their footing this season, all the load is left on Curry’s shoulders.
Chef Curry is the only player in the Dubs who is scoring more than 20 points per game. Due to this imbalance, the coordination and balance of the team is getting hampered. While Curry’s skill is obvious, the club’s over-reliance on him is now a critical problem that must be addressed if the team intends to have long-term success in this competitive NBA season.
