NBA analyst Charles Barkley and American TV host Gayle King’s show with CNN came to a short end a few weeks ago. King Charles, which was an initiative for the late-night audience to listen to Barkley and King’s “freewheeling and authentic conversations“, did not take off since its beginning. The limited series show came to a quick end as Barkley had to return to TNT for playoffs. However, the headlines on the recent reports revealed the show’s status, which pissed off Barkley and his co-host Gayle King, ultimately throwing the blame on CNN.
In his podcast episode with SI Media, Barkley spoke about King Charles, which came to an end two weeks ago. Although the CNN contract mentioned that King Charles was a limited run, the reports that surfaced recently highlighted that the show was canceled. Barkley spoke about this, “Me and Gayle King are really pissed right now because they say ‘King Charles‘ was canceled“.
Barkley went on to state that they had heard no news regarding the show’s cancelation while it was known to be limited because of his commitment with the NBA. The SI Media host questioned Barkley, “You have not heard one word from one CNN executive?”

Barkley boldly said, “Not at all”. He also added, “We were at all headlines. I couldn’t care less to be honest with you. But they never called to say, ‘Hey, the show was not canceled, or was canceled‘. That would work too…We had already decided with CNN…They didn’t call me. At least they would have the common courtesy in my opinion. We were already gonna do only a small amount of shows.” Barkley was not furious at the people at CNN, but he was utterly disappointed.
Could Charles Barkley and Gayle King return to do a show together once again?
Although King Charles did not make an impact in the television world, Barkley and King loved working with each other. However, after listening to the above words from the Philadelphia 76ers legend, it is very unlikely that he will work on the sets of CNN again. But that won’t stop him from reuniting with Gayle King.
In the last episode of the show, Gayle King told the Chuckster, “I will say this: I have loved working with you and something tells me, Charles, this will not be the last time that we’re working together.“ Along with this, she had a message for the viewers, “We will see you the next time whenever we see you…Thanks so much for being with us for the past six months. We had a blast.”

Barkley was on the same page as King. He told her, “Call me Gayle“ after she showed her desire to pair up with the NBA Hall of Famer once again. Also, with Barkley’s journey with TNT coming to a possible end, there is a good chance that the above two will reunite.
