NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most entertaining personalities in the basketball world. From his camaraderie with his co-hosts on Inside the NBA to his electrifying performances as a DJ, O’Neal knows how to attract a crowd. Even his appearances on various podcasts and interviews lead to some memorable content. And that was the case yet again as the 51-year-old joined YouTuber Bobbi Althoff on her ‘The Really Good Podcast‘.

Shaquille O’Neal could not enjoy his ‘Pink Thongs’ on the beach

During the 44 minute long conversation, Shaquille O’Neal touched base on a one day old moment during which he visited the beach. When Althoff asked why Shaq had to leave the sandy area early, the 4x NBA champion described how he had his “thongs on” and that people around him were taking “a*s shots”.

This drew a look on Althoff’s face that was a mixture of amazement and possible disgust. When asked if said pics would pop up on a Google Search, Shaq disagreed by stating that “We deleted all the footage”.

Still carrying the same look, Bobbi Althoff had to ask the reason for engaging in such an activity. O’Neal believed that he was going to be alone and just needed an opportunity to bring out his “pink thong” in the open. The former Los Angeles Lakers star went so far as to ask the show’s crew to search up his footage of adorning the women’s garment.

The Big Diesel brought the ‘thong’ picture to everyone’s attention

“You don’t believe me?” Shaq asked Althoff. In return, he got an “I don’t care” response. The interviewer jokingly doubled down on her effort to prevent Shaq’s ‘thong pic’ from making the rounds.

“The police are coming right now to get you for talking about this,” said Althoff. Shaq responded, “I am the police”. True fans of the Lakers legend may take this comment as a callback to when Shaquille O’Neal decided to enter “Law Enforcement Politics”.

Soon after, a crew member handed the former NBA star a phone, allowing him the chance to see the ‘not so pleasant’ picture. After the crew member intentionally made the mistake of typing in ‘Shaq playing Pinball’ instead of ‘Shaq in a pink thong’, O’Neal searched the result up himself and asked the crew member to be the first to see it.

After showing the hilarious picture to Bobbi, who had to cover her head, Shaq turned the phone towards the cameras, allowing each and every viewer to see ‘Shaq in a Pink Thong’ in all its glory. Expect for the fact that the ‘thong’ was just a pair of pink shorts. “Do you need me to buy you bigger shorts?” said Bobbi Althoff as the topic of conversation came to a close.

The 4x NBA champion revealed the existence of the “BPD”

During a segment of the interview, Shaq handed his glasses to Bobbi Althoff. After she adorned the same, Shaq said that the glasses make her look “gorgeouser”.

“Thank you for inventing a word to describe me,” Bobbi replied back. Shaq, however, claimed that the word exists in a dictionary, being used to describe something that is “better than gorgeous”.

The 15x NBA All Star stated that the word exists in a “BPD”, an acronym for “Black People Dictionary”. Shaq used the opportunity to use another word from the “BPD” called “Finna”. “I’m finna go eat after I do this podcast” said Shaq, combining the words ‘finally’ and ‘gonna’ into one.

Shaquille O’Neal has difficulty playing sports due to his age

Bobbi Althoff kicked off a different line of conversation by asking Shaquille O’Neal whether he played any sports. The 51-year-old replied in the negative, citing the reason being that he was “too old”.

When Bobbi said that she thought Shaq was her age, the Big Diesel replied, “I wish I was your age. I’d be making $700 million right now.” The comment may have been a dig towards the pay discrepancy faced by the current and former NBA players. The same has been a topic of conversation for quite some time now.

O’Neal recently tried to get back on the basketball bandwagon only to find out that he was “terrible at it”. “I can’t even jump,” said Shaq during the segment. Add the fact that he recently had hip surgery, it doesn’t seem like he would be getting back to playing his favorite sport anytime soon.

The father of six claims to have “6/13” kids

During the early stages of the interview, Bobbi Althoff asked Shaq about his kids. The former Miami Heat star replied that he had more kids than people know, but since “Maury Povich has been cancelled”, the truth may never come out.

24 minutes after Shaq’s sarcastic reply, Bobbi once again brought the question to the limelight. Shaq replied that he had “six slash thirteen” kids. When Bobbi asked for clarification, O’Neal changed his answer to “six slash fifteen”. When the YouTuber asked the reason for the slash in between, Shaq maintained that he never said anything about a slash.

The reply resulted in a 20+ seconds of ‘gaslighting’ session, during which Shaq kept maintaining that Bobbi wasn’t hearing or looking at his facial features clearly.

Awkward pauses remained a consistent thing throughout the interview. During one such pause, Bobbi had to check her phone in order to determine the amount of time they had left. The interviewer expressed her ‘wish’ for the interview to go on for another four hours, which Shaq was willing to go through with.

“Anything for you, princess,” said O’Neal. From the looks of it, Bobbi sure was ready to break her character and burst out laughing.

As the interview made its way to the second half, Bobbi Althoff asked Shaq whether he had ever ridden on a horse. Recalling his possibly sole encounter with one of them, Shaq highlighted that the beast tried to kill him.

“It was a 22 hand Percheron,” recalled Shaq during the interview. “What I didn’t know is that he was a carriage horse and then when I tried to get on him, he tried to ‘Bronco Billy’ me.” Bobbi stated her opinion that Shaq was making this story up. In order to prove what’s true, Shaq was willing to send the footage of the incident to Bobbi’s crew.

The interviewer was ‘worried’ that the horse may not have been left in a good condition now. Shaq, however, ‘assured’ her that the horse was in a good condition. “He’s in Orlando eating snacks,” Shaq added during the conversation.

Bobbi Althoff’s interview format, which has helped her in garnering instant popularity, seems to have found its best guest in the NBA star. From the way the questions were asked to the responses, each and every second of the interview was a delight to watch.
