Angel mania has taken over the Wade house. Kaavia Wade’s obsession with Angel Reese is the cutest thing to come out of Dwyane Wade’s team selecting the 2023 NCAA champion. After the Chicago Sky co-boss made it possible for Kaav to meet the Bayou Barbie-turned-Chi Barbie, the five-year-old is blowing all of Reese’s fans out of the water. D-Wade shared Kaavia’s new project inspired by Angel Reese and no other. The best part, Angel saw it!

“It’s @angelreese5 in the Wades House!” the dad of four asserted on his Instagram Stories with a video to illustrate it. Kaavia is front and center asking someone behind the camera, “Can I please, please make an Angel Reese shirt?” The yes is implied. But the woman filming it still asks, “What do you want your Angel Reese shirt to say?” It’s straightforward for the young merchandise designer, “I love you Angel Reese.”

Even without a self-designed t-shirt the message was loud and clear to the muse herself. Reese reposted Wade’s Story on her own profile reciprocating the sentiment with, “Love my girl” and the extra heart eye and teary-eyed emojis.

A minor mystery remains who is the one recording this video and asking Kaavia questions. It could be her mom, Gabrielle Union, but it’s not immediately clear. That doesn’t take away from how the Angel-Kaav duo is the amazingly adorable duo we need.

Kaavia finds her Barbie in Angel Reese

When Dwyane Wade bought an ownership stake in Chicago Sky in 2023, Angel Reese was still the reigning NCAA champ from LSU. When she declared for the WNBA draft, there was a strong likelihood of the Sky picking her. When that happened, Reese became an honorary member of the Wade fam.

Apart from Wade pretty much christening her as the future of Sky, he introduced Kaavia to her real life heroine in person at the team’s home opener last month. Kaavia and Reese shared a hug and Wade posted on social media, “Thank you [Angel Reese] for being a model for all our daughters.” 

Union also shared on social media how Kaavia became Angel’s little fan. “Once Kaav heard [Angel Reese] went by Barbie, Stan for life.” Reese had responded to Union at that time, “Love her.” We can’t wait to see what Kaavia’s Angel t-shirt looks like. Fingers crossed, Angel has a matching one.
