Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley were punching Kendrick Perkins during their live show. Literally, but not quite! They used the Boston Celtics legend image on a sandbag and showed off their jabs and cuts. There was even a back-and-forth involving the trio, where things got heated. But it seems Perkins got the last laugh, as the details about his new deal come to light.
“ESPN has signed Kendrick Perkins to a multi-year extension, and he will now appear on ABC’s NBA Countdown, ESPN’s NBA Countdown, NBA Today, Get Up, First Take, SportsCenter, and Hoop Streams, per @TheAthleticNBA.” NBACentral reported on X. As per the Athletic report, Perkins is not the only one to receive an extension.
Three other voices of the network, Tim Legler, Monica McNutt, and Chiney Ogwumike. While TNT also confirmed Vince Carter with a new deal recently, but the overall media deal for the NBA is still in limbo. So, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson, their future with basketball is still up in the air. Although Chuck has confirmed that Inside the NBA show will continue. But is still unclear about the path ahead.

“I don’t have any idea what that means.” On the Dan Patrick Show, the 76ers legend even claimed that he was ready to take a $100 million pay cut to keep his crew intact. Meanwhile, Shaq has a mellowed response to his future “We have one more year left. So I am a consummate professional, so I’m not going to go left or go right.” So, currently, everyone is thinking about the show as a last hurrah with the NBA. If it’s the last dance, they might even be more unfiltered in comparison to previous years.
Has Kendrick Perkins ended his beef with Charles Barkley and Shaq?
Whenever the Lakers legend and his best friend criticize somebody. they make sure to inform everybody that the take is not out of jealousy. Similarly, the ESPN analyst made an assessment and called out his TNT analysts for watching enough games. At the time, the Knicks were second in the EC, yet Shaq and Chuck had no hopes for Jalen Brunson and Co. “It’s obviously [that] they don’t watch basketball.”
Kendrick Perkins said on the Michael Kay Show in April, “If you don’t watch the Knicks on a consistent basis then you don’t know.” It was Shaquille O’Neal who took a stand and replied on X. “Can a non hall of famer speak on two hall of famers just asking.” The beef was not just for social media. During the TNT show, Shaq and King Charles addressed it once again and took some more personal shots.

Barkley said, “Shaq, you out there killin’ roaches, aren’t you?” also added, “Five points a game, you gonna call ME out?” This was during the segment when they were punching Kendrick Perkins’ photo. In June, the former champion said, “My thing is the whole ‘roach’ thing. I don’t mind the punching bag, but the roach thing? C’mon man. What we on?” And seemingly admitted that the beef was over, but reminded everyone he did not start or like the personal attack.
“Stay tuned for more such updates and join us for the exciting second episode of the “Dual Threat Show” as our host BG12 sits down with Georgia Bulldogs star and Mountain West All-Freshman Team Selection, Asia Avinger.”
