LeBron's predictions: visionary insights or just another tall tale? What's your take on his claims?

It’ll be a father-son showdown in the West Coast as soon the King’s wish comes true. As Bronny James edges closer to his NBA debut with the Los Angeles Lakers, following in the footsteps of his father LeBron James, the basketball community is reminded of the King’s uncanny ability to spot talent, sometimes decades before it blossoms. From predicting Luka Doncics’s greatness during his Real Madrid days to recognizing Ja Morant’s potential when he was still at Murray State, Bron’s talent radar has rarely missed. But wait. Even though his previous predictions were quite correct, there have been moments when the Lakers standout has been caught red-handed with an NBA star revealing one of the many.

In the latest episode of the ‘Club 520 Podcast‘, Jeff Teague brought up the topic of the recent Lakers media day where James and his son Bronny were seen together wearing the iconic Gold and Purple after a long time. However, the agenda was not about the future of the duo; but what James said about Bronny during the interview. “I f**k with LeBron, I f**k with the whole moment. But the only thing I didn’t feel I was like he said when he was like five years old he seen the n***a and was like yeah, he going to the league, like stop. I love y’all to death, I love your whole family, but bro,” said Teague during the podcast.

During the presser, James recalled the particular moment when he knew that Bronny would be playing in the NBA. According to him, the young basketballer had showcased an incredible form of rebounding which had made him think that he was special. This, according to his rival, who hasn’t won a single match against him, was a lie. It’s quite understandable why he says so because there have been numerous instances when LeBron was caught lying.

One of the most prominent lies for which the King was trolled online was when he claimed that he knew the former Liverpool player Peter Crouch. Most interestingly, Bron is a shareholder of Liverpool but during an interview with Crouch himself, King James wasn’t aware of who he was talking to. But later tried to play it off by telling that he knew the whole time. “No I knew that, I didn’t get an opportunity to see him play with the club but I definitely knew that,” said James during the interview. Moreover, the list doesn’t stop here.

Again during the 2005-2006 season, Kobe Bryant scored a career-high 81 points against the Toronto Raptors. However, James somehow claimed that he predicted the stat line. “Before the game even started, I said he was probably gonna score 70 tonight. I don’t know what made me say that. My friends whipped me, and I was like, ‘Okay.’ When he got to 70, I was like, ‘He might as well go for 80.’ I’m a fan of the game. To see that performance was unbelievable,” said James. Moreover, the King was also caught lying several times off the court when he said that his favorite movie was ‘The Godfather’, but couldn’t say a single quote from a movie.

Jeff Teague’s comment adds to the growing anthology of stories about LeBron James’s off-court antics. Even though the legend was caught lying multiple times we cannot deny his accomplishments in the game. And with his son by his side, the number will surely increase.

It will also be a challenge for the head coach of the Lakers, JJ Redick, since he has never managed a father-son duo in a team ever before, the James at that! “We don’t have anything planned, per se, in terms of a commitment to do it this way. We obviously have talked about it as a staff, and we’ve gotten into some specifics of what that might look like, but we haven’t committed to anything,” said coach Redick.

Los Angeles will start their season with a three-game homestand starting on October 22nd against the Minnesota Timberwolves. If LeBron and Bronny do team up during the opener, they would become the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA. The history is about to begin!

Stay tuned for more such updates and join us for the exciting second episode of the “Dual Threat Show” as our host BG12 sits down with Georgia Bulldogs star and Mountain West All-Freshman Team Selection, Asia Avinger.
