“I’m the type of person that, when I really care about someone, I’m like a serial monogamist.” Amber Rose made her intentions clear about dating back in 2015. It was also the year when she was dating a former Rockets star, James Harden. It was just a few months after her divorce from Wiz Khalifa. But the relationship with the NBA star didn’t last long, and the television personality even claimed that she had decided to stop dating athletes. That’s why the picture of her and Iman Shumpert spread like wildfire.

Former NBA champion this year has been in the news due to a reported 7 figure divorce settlement with Teyana Taylor. So, netizens were interested if the 34-year-old was back dating somebody.

It was last month when Iman Shumpert and the Sister Code star photos from the Miami outing went viral. In the images, one could see them sitting next to each other in individual sunbeds on Miami Beach. The former winner of Dancing with the Stars even cleared to TMZ recently that they were friends.

“We went to ‘College Hill’ [Celebrity Edition] together, any other time, y’all would’ve just let us eat, but I get it.” The former teammate of LeBron James was in New York when a TMZ representative asked him the question.

Not convinced with the answer, there was a follow-up question, but Iman Shumpert did not budge. “Nah, that’s my peoples.” Rose and the former NBA star were co-stars for the 2023-released series. And a few years ago, the mother of two also explained why she wouldn’t be dating athletes.

“Listen that’s what I’m attracted to, extremely smart men, always have been,” Amber Rose said in 2017 to the Tomorrow Show. “I need guys that are articulate and that can teach me something, you know? That’s why I really don’t date like, ball players and stuff, like I’ve tried but I’m turned off because they’re not very smart — most of them, I don’t want to say all of them…but most of them are kind of airheads and I’m just…I can’t.” It seems like her past experience has made her derive this sort of conclusion.

Amber Rose and James Harden’s timeline

Back in 2015, she blushed when she revealed to the world that she had a valentine. “Of course, my son Sebastian is my baby, so he is always my Valentine–but I also have an actual Valentine and he’s a really nice guy.” Amber Rose revealed to Power 105 that the nice guy was in fact, James Harden.

“Me and Wiz have been broken up for quite a few months. I now have a very special friendship with James Harden. He’ll be my Valentine – if he acts right.” But reportedly the relationship ended in March the same year. Later she would date Machine Gun Kelly and another NBA star, Terrence Ross. In 2018, she started dating Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards and the former couple also share a son, but they called it quits in 2021.

That could be the reason why Amber Rose said last year, “I wanna be single for the rest of my life.” Iman Shumpert too has been single after his divorce from actress, singer, and rap artist, Teyana Taylor. The former couple even had their own show, Teyana & Iman, which started in 2018.

The rumored reasons were that Iman Shumpert cheated on Taylor, but she clarified those claims. At the beginning of last year, she had filed for divorce, but the two agreed on a settlement a few days ago. Daily Mail reported that in June the former Cleveland star had requested to lower his child support from $8,000, as he claimed that Taylor earned nearly double, whereas he reportedly earns $48,000 as his monthly income. After a very public separation, the former NBA star might be avoiding any future relationship, and that’s why he chose to hang out with his friend, Amber Rose.
