Vanessa Bryant was recently barraged with allegations by Dr. Umar Johnson, who feels that she has not done enough for the black community after inheriting Kobe Bryant’s wealth. As it has been almost 4 years since Kobe tragically passed away, activist Johnson, who is known for making controversial statements, did not hold back when going off against the wife of the Los Angeles Lakers legend.
Fans and NBA players have already come to her defense, and a YouTuber recently shared several instances of Vanessa using her wealth to give back to the people and how Johnson is wrong about his claims.
“1) Vanessa donated $16 MILLION to Kobe’s Foundation serving underprivileged youths. 2) Kobe didn’t even go to college, why is he responsible for HBCUs? 3) Kobe was a founding member of the African American Museum History Museum & gave a MILLION to that. 4) Marvin Hagler’s widow went on record saying he did not pass from the shot. 5) That was a 3-Way partnership with Nike Basketball for the teams to wear his shoes. Dr Umar is wrong on this one,” wrote Kari Daniels.

These statements are strictly in response to the comments made by Johnson during the Joe Budden podcast. One of the main points made by Johnson about Vanessa not helping the black community was by stating that she didn’t choose any HBCU schools for ‘initiatives’.
What Johnson is supposedly referring to is the ‘Mamba Program’ by Nike. The universities that are part of this program are some of the best ones that are already affiliated with Nike. So all she did was unveil the teams for the program.
While Vanessa doesn’t openly show what she has done for the people and the community, fans know what she has done. They defended Kobe Bryant’s wife by shedding light on multiple actions undertaken by Vanessa for the community since Kobe’s passing.
