“We should bring back fighting. If you want to talk about robbing the league of entertainment, what’s more entertaining than a little scuffle?” It seems players in the NBA have taken the words of Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla a little too seriously. First, it was the Suns and Mavs players feuding, now we have the Rockets and the Miami Heat involved. The game saw six ejections, which included Amen Thompson, Tyler Herro, and even the Rockets’ head coach. But who came out as the winner? Well, Kendrick Perkins has the answer.
“Amen Thompson stood up and yeah he threw the shit outta Herro and people can get their jokes off… but Hero definitely won in this situation because he gave the Rockets that work with 27-9-6 with the W and it ain’t costing him $$$$.” The former Celtics legend stated on X.
With just 35.7 seconds left, the Miami Heat were cruising to a 101-94 victory. That’s when Herro and Thompson engaged in a war of words and within a few seconds, the former hit the ground, thanks to a judo-esque slam from the Rockets star, which erupted further.

Apart from the two main culprits, Terry Rozier, Jalen Green, and Rockets coaches, Ime Udoka and Ben Sullivan, also faced ejection. But it was the Heat who held on to the victory a 100-104, and have a 16-14 record. Even Tyler Herro, after the game, shared the sentiments that Kendrick Perkins shared on X.

“Just two competitors going at it, playing basketball.” Wait for his flex right at the end. “…Just a physical game. Guess that’s what happens when someone’s scoring, throwing dimes, doing the whole thing. I’d get mad too.” He has the right to boast about his performance as he scored game-high 27 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds, to bring the Heat 16th win. Meanwhile, Thompson ended up with a stat line of 5 rebounds, 5 points, and 5 assists. Plus, the potential ban looming over his head from the NBA.

Just a few days ago, Kendrick Perkins appreciated the Rockets star for his performance. “Amen Thompson has the potential to be the best perimeter player in the league. He’s a damn problem.” Definitely a problem that the league will be imposing potential financial repercussions or as they did in the previous instance involving the Mavericks and the Suns.
Kendrick Perkins is not a fan of the league’s decision
Jusuf Nurkic and Naji Marshall got into a heated physical altercation and turned the Footprint Center into an Octagon— it had slaps and even punches being thrown from both sides. Both the stars faced ejection and faced penalties from the league. ESPN’s senior insider, Shams Charania, stated that Nurkic is suspended for three games while Marshall has to face a four-game suspension. Many, including the Big Perk, thought the Mavs forward should have faced less harsh punishment.

“The league got this one wrong. Nurkic started and swung first. Marshall should have only gotten 2 games max.” The league later revealed that “Following the on-court incident, Marshall attempted to further engage Nurkic in a hostile manner in the corridor outside the locker rooms.” Maybe that is the reason for a longer ban in comparison to the Suns’ Center.
Even Perkins has had his fair share of fights. So him choosing Tyler Herro over Amen Thompson has the internet divided. The former won via his hooping abilities. While the latter stood tall in the brawl. Which side are you on?
