The Answer was gambling with friends in Atlantic City, but it turns out the 76ers legend is quite superstitious. On one particular occasion, even though he was already winning, Iverson felt he needed the approval of his closest buddy and brother Jackson.

He stopped everything and asked his mother to call Jackson because he refused to continue playing without his blessing. “I remember his time he was gambling in Atlantic City and he was actually winning too but he was winning and he felt, he felt kind of superstitious so he told his mom ‘look if you don’t get Steve on the phone right now just so I can tell him I love him I’m not going to play another hand,’Jackson shared the story on PHLY Sports. Jackson is also an important part of the Iverson Classic All-American game. He is the coach for the games.

Iverson’s reputation in Atlantic City and other places when it comes to gambling isn’t great, leading to bans from several casinos, including two in Detroit. He is a sore loser and often ends up misbehaving. While many players and rivals are friends off the court, it’s rare to see how much Iverson respects Jackson.

Stephen Jackson showed love to brother Allen Iverson

The two players were in the NBA around the same time. However, they never played on the same team, yet they have a stronger bond than most teammates. Iverson has always considered Jackson his brother and helped him with everything during their time in the league.

“I have my own relationship with AI. I never played with him, but we always been like brothers, and I just think the person I am, he just embraced me, from day one,” Jackson said in an episode of the Showtime Basketball podcast.

Jackson further said, “I get calls from him every other day of him telling he love me, and that means a lot, because I looked up to him, he showed me that I didn’t have to compromise nothing to be successful.” The two remain close friends to this day.
