The New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers went head-to-head. This was Joel Embiid‘s debut match-up in the season after his suspension. It was even more important for the Knicks, who just faced a tough 132-121 loss against the Indiana Pacers. But stealing the thunder is most certainly 76ers legend Allen Iverson. He often makes a point to attend the Knicks vs. 76ers game, but this time, his odd selection of outfit seems to have left the fans baffled.
As posted by the Knicks’ official X handle, the Answer made an appearance at the match-up. But he wore an orange T-shirt paired with a deep blue jacket. If he sat among a group of Knicks fans, Iverson might be confused for a Knicks fan wearing the team’s colors to show support.
But Bubba Chuck is among the top five players in the franchise’s history. Winning the league MVP honor, Iverson was a crucial player in leading the 76ers to the 2001 NBA Finals; although they would lose to the LA Lakers. Regardless, with a decade there, the 4x scoring champ is the heart that beats in Philly. Back in 2009, he came close to joining the New York Knicks when he became an unrestricted free agent. But that was the extent of it, rejoining the 76ers instead.

Currently, as a 76ers ambassador, the former player often makes appearances. What made him stand out this time was his outfit, and even more striking than that, was Iverson’s huge diamond pendant.

What’s your perspective on:
Did Allen Iverson's outfit choice blur the lines of his loyalty to the 76ers?
Have an interesting take?
Iverson surely loves his bling, but nothing is more iconic than The Answer’s custom-made diamond necklace. Designed to display the number three in Roman numerals, the necklace likely is a nod to his career accomplishments and his iconic No. 3 jersey.
The 11x NBA All-Star wore no. 3 for most of his career, except during his stint with the Detroit Pistons when he switched to No. 1 which was earlier worn by Chauncey Billups.

He wore this same pendant and an all-black outfit to a Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers game earlier in January. This piece was crafted by Pristine Jewelers who are known for creating custom jewelry for A-list celebrities like Offset, Cardi B, and Drake.
At the time, Iverson expressed a desire to play a more significant role than merely serving as a team ambassador for the 76ers, a team that he deeply loves. So it’s likely that his support might not lie with the latter but then again, his outfit can come as quite confusing to fans.
