Reebok has pulled off a boss move that many didn’t see coming. In October this year, the footwear giant announced two of the all-time basketball greats as top position holders in the company. Shaquille O’Neal is the president of their basketball operations while the great Allen Iverson is his VP.

This All-Star lineup is a massive move by the company which is attempting to reestablish its brand in the market. While they executed their plans by announcing these positions, AI has his own set of plans to make the most out of this opportunity. Not only that, the Hall of Famer also has an escape plan called Shaquille O’Neal.

Allen Iverson’s plans to take Reebok to new heights

During a recent interview with FN, Iverson talked about his goals as the VP of Reebok basketball. The 11x NBA All-Star was asked, “AI, what do you hope to accomplish as VP of Reebok Basketball?” AI said that he wants to leave a “forever-lasting imprint” on the brand. But The Answer brings more than just commitment to the table, after all, he is revered for his style which makes him such a unique individual. He said, “I know my style, what my style is, and what I can bring as far as what’s dope, so I don’t mind the criticism that may come with it.”

Living up to his reputation of giving his all to whatever he is involved with, AI described what he wishes to achieve with this collaboration. The NBA veteran said, “I want to be that guy that you say you did a good job or you did a bad job.” The basketball world awaits with bated breath to see what the duo, Shaq and AI, are going to achieve together. Going by their recent signings of Angel Reese and Shakur Stevenson, they’re already off to a great start.

Allen Iverson’s mischievous plan involves Shaquille O’Neal

Although AI has all the confidence in himself to pull off something brilliant with Reebok, he does have an escape plan in the pipeline. The NBA veteran said that while he is ready for the criticism if it comes his way, he has Shaq who he can throw under the bus. AI jokingly said that because Shaq has the “last say-so”, he’ll not hesitate in putting it all on him.

Putting the jokes aside, he said, “I know with the love and respect that he has for me and the love and respect that I have for him that we’ll be great.” Looking at his conviction and longstanding relationship with Reebok, we can expect great things from these two greats. We certainly look forward to what they are going to achieve together.
