The deal was an extension of the 10-year, $50 million contract that Allen Iverson signed after being selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. By then, Iverson was already a beast, having made his mark while playing college basketball for the Georgetown Hoyas.
