The special day is nearing. 3x NBA champion Dwyane Wade will be getting inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame soon. Apart from being a great individual, the Miami Heat legend showed exceptional basketball brilliance for 16 memorable years. Ahead of the honor, the player?s hometown of Chicago paid homage to his everlasting legacy.
The 41-year-old chose NBA icon Allen Iverson to induct him to the Hall of Fame in August in Massachusetts. Days before the big day, more honor was bestowed upon the Miami great.

Chicago means a lot to the 13-time All-Star. The Windy City is Wade’s hometown, where he first had the dream of becoming an NBA star. For him, this city was the center of hope and to come back here to get honored was equally special. He has always shown his love for his hometown and even played for the Chicago Bulls for 2 years. Recently he bought a minority ownership stake in Chicago Sky as well.
He posted a small clip of the ceremony on his IG story. In the clip, the 3-time NBA champion is seen talking with other celebrities and celebrating the moment. He further shared another story, where he thanked the city. He wrote, “Milwaukee and Chicago you have my heart. Thank you for showing me so much love this past week! This HOF stuff is starting to feel really real. Imposter syndrome loading… HOF Tour continues.”

Dwyane Wade ruled the basketball floor with his agility and great athleticism. He was a scorer who even won a scoring championship after averaging 30 points per game in the 2008-2009 season. The Flash spent 13 seasons with the Heat before going to the Chicago Bulls, after which he signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers and played for 46 games before getting traded back to the Heat again.

The 13-time All-Star player has always been a major supporter of women?s sports. There were already rumors of him buying a stake in the Chicago Sky when he was spotted at their practice. Confirming all of them true, the player announced his ownership to the public through his Twitter account. He already owns a stake in MLS? Real Salt Lake and purchased a stake in NBA?s Utah Jazz in 2021.
