The upcoming week will be an emotional ride for the entire Wade clan. Dwyane Wade is the first player in the Heat’s franchise to be honored with a statue. Meanwhile, his son has decided to give another shot to his dream by entering the G-League draft. Then there’s the first-ever When We Gather Food & Wine Festival in partnership with Frito Lay (a $13 billion convenience foods business unit of PepsiCo). And to make it more special, the Flash revealed his new car.

Coming back home, delighted to get a car from, listen this is Aston Martin, nothing too big some of the perks, getting ready for the weekend y’all.” In his Instagram story, he tagged Thee Collection dealership and wrote the caption, “Always showing me love.” From the story glimpse, the car can be identified as The Aston Martin DBX 707, the 2023 model costs $207,680.

Dwyane Wade added another story, flaunting his Aston Martin, with a selfie with the car hood. He also used the song from the Miami native Rick Ross, ‘Aston Martin Music’ featuring Drake and Chrisette Michele. But this might pale in comparison to the previous gift that his wife had purchased 4 years ago.

Back in 2020, Gabrielle Union made him emotional with a 1974 Ford Bronco. Because she gave a gift on Father’s Day, the 3x NBA Champion wrote, “‘Happy Fathers Day to Meeeeee!!!! I mentioned years ago that when I moved to LA I would love a Bronco!! Well the wife was listening. Thank you @gabunion you did that!!!!!‘” The vintage car was a cream hue with a burnt orange tone interior. While no details on the purchase have been made public, for context know this.

In 2020, Classic Cars was offering the 1974 Ford Bronco out of Pensacola, Florida, for USD$299,000, as reported by ManofMany! Interestingly, Union had said in her Instagram Stories that putting the surprise together took her months and was done “piece by piece.” This probably indicates that this was a fully custom job. Yet this was not the only occasion when she surprised Wade with a car gift.

In the very next year (2021), On January 10, Wade posted a video on Instagram showing an early 39th birthday gift from Union: a white 1988 Mercedes-Benz R107 SL convertible. According to eonline, the video was recorded by Wade’s 18-year-old son, Zaire. A voice was heard shouting, “Surprise!” while Wade and Union came out of their house. A shocked Wade excitedly made a move toward the car before suddenly backpedaling to thank his wife.

Posting the video, Wade wrote, “One week before I turn 39 and @gabunion has already started with the surprises. She just raised the bar #1988 Classic!” Wade had later also posted a standalone photo of the car. ISeems like, Union is doing the job of a supportive wife by nurturing Wade’s passion for cars.

Earlier this year, the 42-year-old flaunted his Porsche, which sprints from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 2.2 seconds. Also captioned, “Shout out to Porsche baby.” The price of the 911 Turbo / Turbo S starts at $198,850 and goes up to $244,850. “It’s Porsche not Pors @porscheusa Appreciate the Miami.” Aren’t you interested to know what else is there in his garage? Here you go! (PS: the list might not be exhaustive!)

Interestingly, such is Wade’s love of luxury cars that at one point he had over a dozen vehicles in his garage. This is significant considering Wade’s early life when he had to work in a car wash in Illinois to make a living. “One of my jobs in high school, I was a porter for a Bob Watson car company,” Wade had said to CNBC.

“So I would be the guy that once someone comes in and they buy a car, I had to wash it up, I had to get it nice for them. When you go past a car lot, you see all these cars parked nicely. I had to be the one to fit those cars into that little bitty space,” he had further added. Interestingly, the NBA legend had said that the best financial advice he ever received was “to get rid of about 16 cars” he owned, as reported by Men’s Health. Indeed, all these speak volumes about the magnitude of his success. Now one more feather is set to be added to that.

Dwyane Wade is synonymous with the Miami Heat. Wade was drafted by the team in 2003 and was named to the All-Rookie team. He was a 13-time All-Star and led the Heat to their first NBA title in 2006, winning the Finals MVP. Teaming up with LeBron James and Chris Bosh in 2010, he helped lead the Heat to back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013. In his 15 seasons with the Heat, Wade averaged 22.7 points, 5.6 assists, and 4.7 rebounds, including winning the 2009 NBA scoring title. So the Franchise has now decided to immortalize its legend.

In January the Miami Heat revealed that a statue of Dwyane Wade was coming soon. Then in September, they finally announced that the statue would be unveiled on October 27 in front of the Kaseya Center, the first such instance in the franchise history. The ceremony will have a musical performance by by Rick Ross and Nino Breeze. The Heat will then recognize him with a ceremony as part of their October 28 home game against the Detroit Pistons. During this, Wade is set to address the audience in the halftime.

“When we retired his jersey in February 2020, I said Dwyane was the face of this franchise forever and I meant it. Dwyane’s legacy is a towering one not only for the Miami Heat but for Miami-Wade County. I can’t think of a better way to honor him than by memorializing that legacy,” Heat President Pat Riley said in a statement in January.

Wade’s statue was created by sculptors Omri Amrany and Oscar León of Rotblatt Amrany Studio, which also created the Michael Jordan statue in Chicago, the Kobe Bryant statue in Los Angeles, and the Kobe and Gianna Bryant Memorial Statue in Los Angeles, among others. Wade’s longtime associate Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler recently shared his thoughts about the statue.

“All I do know is as much as he’s done for this organization and for this city and for the game of basketball, he’s beloved by everybody. He’s hated by a lot of people too because he beat up on their favorite teams, rightfully so. I just got so much love, so does this city, so does this organization. So whatever statue there is, just know that it’s all heart inside the statue,” Butler said. Wade was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame in 2023 and was a member of the NBA 75 anniversary team. With the statue, he add one more chapter to his NBA immortality.
