Over the last few years, DJ Diesel has become the face of the EDM space. He’s pumped up crowds around the world, but Shaquille O?Neal is left stunned by another bass-head. And he let it known to his social media followers. Big Diesel could be a competitive menace on the court but this retired NBA pro-turned-DJ is not competitive with his fellow EDM titans.

Shaq is fawning over another DJ between his own performances. Just like this dubstep veteran, O’Neal once turned an entire stadium into his mosh pit.

EDM legend, Deadmau5 is currently on tour and had recently stopped in Chicago. The audience’s reaction was so overwhelming, he had to share it on social media. He summed up the atmosphere in the caption, “Chicago, you nasty!” Even the accompanying video of his set contained an explicit reaction, “oh f**k.

Shaquille O’Neal was so awed by the masked DJ,?his set, and the crowd, he reposted the same video on his?DJ Diesel?page. And he had something extra to say about it too. “The mau5 got that dog in him.”

He’s of course referring to the hitmaker’s signature mouse-head costume. His headgear had triggered a trademark battle from the House of Mouse aka Disney. That was settled in 2015 and the Canadian DJ still wears his mouse-head.

Incidentally, O’Neal was recently in Mickey Mouse territory. It was a homecoming for Shaq who started his NBA career with the Orlando Magic. The city is also home to Walt Disney World Resort but Shaq was not wearing his mouse ears when he was back in town during the weekend. On October 27, Diesel deejayed the UCF Knights football game pre-show at their stadium dubbed the ‘Bounce House.’

There’s no rest for the wicked as they say. He was in Tampa the next day, performing at the Monster’s Ball at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino alongside other musical acts. Between his schedules, O’Neal had the time to catch up with his bass-head friend.
