As per Jovan Buha of The Athletic, LeBron James and Anthony Davis are the Lakers’ only “untouchables” right now. “Two players who almost certainly won’t be traded, barring them asking out of Los Angeles, are Davis ($43.2 million) and James ($48.7 million).” So, the rumors should be put to bed regarding King James’ trade, right? But it is still intensifying, and his close friend and former teammate, Carmelo Anthony, described the situation of the executives.
“But there is, I’m sure there’s behind the scenes, there’s front offices that’s trying to see what packages they could put together, you know?” In the season 2 episode 6th of his podcast, Melo was talking about the trade possibilities of LeBron. “They calling him, like, yo, are y’all interested? Is he up? Is he, they probably hit him.” As per the Knicks sharpshooter, the front office of the Lakers confer with their superstar about possible trade situations.
The 4x NBA Champion can easily boast that he has never been involved in a trade in his 2-decade-plus career. But will it change? The news of LeBron declining a trade last season on the deadline is not a secret. This season, seems to be no different, despite the presence of his son, Bronny James.

“LeBron makes the trades. So if he wanna get traded, he’ll get traded.” Carmelo Anthony poured cold water on the trade rumors. He stated that’s not the case at least this season via 7PM in Brooklyn podcast. “I think that window closed shut. It was a point in time maybe last year or a little bit of time ago where there was a thought like, ‘damn, this could be a possibility.'”

Amidst LeBron’s trade, Carmelo Anthony once revealed his failed trade with the Lakers
Speaking about possibilities, Melo declined the opportunity to team up with the Big 3 of the Miami Heat. As he wanted to focus on building his own franchise. Plus, his contract differed from LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. However, instead of going to Miami, he could have joined another super team.
After winning back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010, the Lakers were looking for ways to maximize the remaining window of the Kobe Bryant-Pau Gasol duo. “The deal was done with the Lakers. Me and Nene for Lamar Odom and Bynum. That deal was done. I never thought about New York.”

However, he would feature for them in his later years alongside his friend, LeBron James. Now that friend is circled as a big part of the trade deadline, but Melo has a different opinion.
