Is Dwyane Wade setting the bar too high for family appreciation, or is this the new norm?

November 7 marks a big day in Dwayne Wade’s personal life. Born in 2018, his daughter Kaavia celebrates her birthday and that date also happens to coincide with the NBA legend’s mother’s birthday. So for Wade, the busy day this year started with a playdate with Kaavia and a barbie themed  and later he was spending time with Jolinda as she turned 70.

D Wade has been really close with his mother over the years and even gifted her a church in 2008 when she was able to turn around her life after years of drug abuse and spending time in prison. Thus as she celebrated her 70th birthday, her son was there to join her on the occasion.

“I love showing up for her,” Wade wrote on his IG Story, sharing a video of him hugging his mother. The two couldn’t stop smiling, wrapped in an embrace, happiness visible on their faces. In the next story, Wade shared a picture of his mother in an all-black leather-like outfit. Before that, he also shared another reel of Jolinda on her IG Story, in which she wore a floral gown.

He wrote “70″ along with party popper emojis on his IG Story. Now, these aren’t isolated incidents; the three-time NBA champion is known to often show his love to his parents with grand gestures.

On October 27, Dwyane Wade’s statue was unveiled outside Miami’s Kaseya Center. The statue has his mother’s name on his left shoe’s heel, and his father’s name on the right shoe’s heel. Thanking his parents on Instagram, he wrote, “Thank you Pops for the good looks,” he captioned a photo with his father, Dwyane Wade Sr. He then shared a photo of dancing with his mother, writing, “Mom thank you for my swag.”

Moreover, who can forget his heartwarming gift for his mother when she came out of prison having served term and turned sober? In May 2008, DWade presented her with her very own church building for two million dollars church called the Temple of Praise.

Speaking back then, Dwyane Wade said, “This is tears of joy. Tears of joy for my mother. I respect my mother so much, from the life that she used to live and to see her today in the life that she lives. I’m so proud of her.” Even before this heartwarming gesture, Wade gifted her mother a lavish house and a car.
