Despite 60 million households tuned in, the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson was a lackluster fight. The gate revenue for the event also stood over $18 million, as more than 72,000 fans watched it from AT&T stadium. One person who was present at the fight night was Shaquille O’Neal. Currently, he is batting an old arch-nemesis on social media. Yet, he found time for the next opponent of the 27-year-old.
“This is what we all want to see, The Beast vs @jakepaul let’s make this happen. @dcblackkobra @teamabdallah @netflix @espn.” The Lakers legend shared the post of James ‘the Beast’ Wilson and tagged the other shareholders. One criticism that is always there for Jake Paul is the inability to fight people in their prime, rather than choosing to battle retired/ big names of the sport.
Still, Shaquille O’Neal was locked in the eight-round heavyweight matchup. A day earlier from the event, he was on the Dan Patrick show and revealed his favorite was the Baddest Man on the Planet. He even puts his money where his mouth is.

“I’m placing one this weekend. Mike Tyson baby. All the way,” Shaq told Patrick. Ahead of the fight as well, the 52-year-old stated that he was there to watch Tyson “whoop some a-s.”

When asked about the amount, it was “one million pennies” which equals $10,000. Considering the outcome where Jake Paul was the unanimous victor, Shaquille O’Neal would be counting his stars to bet a small amount, considering he has a $500 million net worth. And a car garage of over 40 cars featuring three of Elon Musk’s cyber trucks.

“Shaq wassup 🥊 let’s make bread 😂,” Dwight Howard wrote on X, suggesting that he was ready to fight the Big Aristotle. However, the 4x NBA Champion mentioned about what it takes to face him in the ring, “Gotta have more than one ring to get in the ring with me, I’ll stick with a real champion like @RobGronkowski , and you can have the Superman belt, all yours buddy.”
So, Shaquille O’Neal did not entertain the challenge at the time, which DH12 perceived to be ducking. “My bad I didn’t read the rulebook 🦆,” wrote Howard. The sarcastic tone and the duck at the end were enough for netizens to have a field day. But Shaq came back to clarify the rules and potentially fight Howard.
“If you woulda read it ,noticed it says Nba vs Nfl with that being said you can box a Nfl guy and then if u win, then u can get The jones of the big man #thegoat #onlyonesuperman, u wait til im fifty to challenge me that’s funny just join the show and let’s whoop some nfl guys. And if u make it to the hall of fame then well do it.” Currently, it seems Shaquille O’Neal wants to establish the pecking order and he stands above Dwight Howard.
