South Bay Lakers star Scotty Pippen Jr. has continued to make waves in the G League with his great performances. So much so that even LeBron James was left impressed by the son of 6x NBA champion Scottie Pippen. The 23-year-old showed out with a triple-double in the Lakers’ win over the G-League Ignite on Sunday. His mother, Larsa Pippen, was in the stands cheering her son on and congratulated him on Instagram after the game.

Sharing Pippen Jr.’s stat line on her Instagram story, the 49-year-old added, “Congrats my love”. Larsa was courtside along with her boyfriend Marcus Jordan at the UCLA Health Training Center, the home of the Los Angeles Lakers’ G League affiliate team.

In the game against the Ignite, the young sensation went on to drop a 27-point triple-double to secure a 150-126 win. While social media continues to praise Pippen Jr., LeBron James took the time to appreciate 6’1 tall guard. The 4x NBA champion shared, “Yeah Scotty!!! Flat out hooper! Let’s Go Young Boi!!”

Scottie Pippen makes a rare public appearance to support his son

The 6-time champion has been quite low for the last few months. Yet, he did not want to miss an opportunity to support his son. Despite his ex-wife Larsa sitting straight opposite to him, the 58-year-old was showing true love to his son at the UCLA Center.

Pippen even joined for a small interview during the summer league last year to speak about his son. He shared, “I’m proud, I must say as a father. Been around a lot of teams with my son over the years, so I’m finally glad to see that you know, it’s all coming together for him.”

Pippen also shared it was “great” to see his son in a Lakers uniform. Pippen Jr. was signed by the Lakers in 2022, where he played just six games last season. Although he was not given a lot of minutes last time, he was expected to play a much defined role this season.
