The Category 1 hurricane, considered to be the weakest type has caused irrecoverable damages and losses, particularly in the Houston area. Just like many, Shaunie Henderson and her husband Keion have started cleaning up their personal property. However, the same can’t be said regarding the damage suffered by Lighthouse Church. And Pastor Keion even warned people to be aware of the scams taking place during the troubled times.

On Instagram, the couple posted a video with “Yard Work After the Storm in Houston.” In the caption, Shaunie Henderson provided tips for the cleanup duty after serving the storm. “After weathering the storm, here are 5 tips to help with storm cleanup: 1️⃣ Assess the damage, 2️⃣ Prioritize tasks, 3️⃣ Clear debris safely, 4️⃣ Trim damaged trees, and 5️⃣ Work together with loved ones for a quicker recovery. #hurricaneberyl #StayStrong #Houston.” In the video, she narrated her own yard work.

She said they were finishing picking up a lot of debris, from one of the storms that came through Houston while using the Ryobi water pressure machine for cleaning. She called the process therapeutic. In the video, Shaunie Henderson continued how her husband also helped and got the job done. In the end, she said, “So I sat back and looked at him you know looking good water pressure in the patio.

Have an interesting take?

Firstly, Shaunie Henderson addressed the audience in a previous reel signifying the losses, and the damage caused. “As you tend to your families over the next several weeks, we ask that all of our brothers and sisters across the nation and around the world pray for #TheLightHouse, our community, our city, and each other as we rebuild with a renewed spirit of healing in God’s love.”

Similarly, because of the rebuild, the Light House church put out a message informing everybody to stay vigilant during hard times, stating that they were aware of scams and fake messages people were receiving in an attempt to scam the community in the name of The Lighthouse Church. They further requested people not to respond or donate through CashApp, PayPal, or similar platforms. Their official source is the Resiliency Fund, accessible via Pushpay, Kindrid, or Givelify.

The effects of Hurricane Beryl are still being felt, some places continue to be in the dark. NBC reported that more than 800,000 consumers remained without power and electricity on Friday afternoon. This makes it more than four days after the hurricane flooded streets.
