The former NBA star sat for an interview with ‘Command Center’ and shared his experience about owning his first-ever NFL team, the Washington Commanders. During the conversation, one of the hosts asked Johnson if his career as an athlete helped him in his business. People might be surprised to know about it, but the Lakers legend said that his knowledge as an athlete was instrumental in his business endeavors.
He shared, “The same discipline I had as an athlete…..is the same discipline I must have as a businessman and then I am always prepared.”
Sharing his secret to thriving in business, he said, “And then I think the dedication… the hard work, my worth ethic has always been amazing so the same business ethic I take as a business as well, and last but not least is the same working attitude; I hate to lose.”
That’s what we all appreciate about him. He is part of the Josh Harris-led group that bought the $5.6 billion worth of NFL team, Washington Commanders. The legend also has major ownership stakes in 3 LA teams, The LA Dodgers (MLB), the LAFC (MLS), and LA Sparks (WNBA).
While his LA Sparks was not able to secure a position in the WNBA playoffs this year, the team won the championship back in 2016. With his latest deal, the legend is making waves in both the sports and business world.

However, he once mentioned how he disliked some of the new-generation players who refused to take on the court. He revealed how fans were disappointed to see their favorite player sitting out of the game even when they were not injured.
