Johnson’s prediction comes in the aftermath of the Phoenix Suns making a big change with their roster. In preparation for the upcoming season, the team acquired 3x All-Star Bradley Beal, former Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkić and former Orlando Magic player Bol Bol.

Even though Johnson has not played for the Lakers for over 27 years now, he still holds a certain level of loyalty towards his former team. If there is anyone who is going to be happy with the voice of support, then it will be 38-year-old NBA star LeBron James.

Johnson recently sat down for an interview with the Associated Press. Having previously owned a partial share of the Lakers and currently boasting an ownership stake in the NFL’s Washington Commanders, the 64-year-old is now looking to maybe make an exciting offer to a $6.1 billion worth NBA franchise.

“I think it would be intriguing. The only team I would actually probably think about is the New York Knicks,” said Johnson during the interview. He stated that he loved going to Madison Square Garden and watching the Knicks in action.

Despite voicing his support towards a potential deal taking place, Johnson has clarified that he has not engaged in any formal discussion with James Nolan, the current owner of the New York Knicks.
