“So I’m not here to talk about the accolades necessarily, but more so the man that is behind the statue that you guys are going to see.” During the statue unveiling ceremony, Zaire Wade gave an emotional speech about his father and his contributions to his life. He also shared Dwyane Wade’s favorite life lesson: perseverance. Taking a page from his father’s book, the 22-year-old is persistent in his career. In a new video on Dwyane Wade’s YouTube channel, viewers saw Zaire open up about a new chapter in his life.

Taking it day by day right now, enjoying the close friends around me, keeping a family close, of course. Training really takes up half my schedule nine days, just trying to keep my dream alive,” Zaire Wade said.

Besides that, I’m trying to get into the content world, so hence, my first time on the Pod, got a new YouTube, I just did a little self-promotion there, but um, besides that, taking it day by day.

Yes, the son of the Miami Heat legend is starting his own YouTube journey, as shared on Dwyane Wade’s YouTube channel. As per ‘Polaris Market Research’, the entire digital content creation market in 2023 was $30.34 Billion. No wonder he wants to start a new chapter with content creation.

But speaking about his dreams in life, the youngster stated, “A dream for me, since I can remember, is being an NBA player. I’m 22 now, but what I mean by keeping it alive is just continue to believe in myself. For me, get up every day, whatever 7 o’clock at least, every day. I’m in the gym first,” he stated before sharing how he tries to be consistent and have a sharp mindset.”

The Miami Heat’s legend eldest is used to the spotlight, even though sometimes it comes with hard and unwanted criticism. Recently, there were reports of Zaire declaring for the G-League draft, and according to the official draft, he was undrafted. The draft occurred on the 26th— just a day before the unveiling ceremony.

But there is no official announcement from the Wade family about the same. However, it’s not a setback that the 22-year-old is not used to. After all, everyone is directly comparing Zaire to his father’s legacy. That comparison doesn’t affect Dwyane Wade‘s eldest, and he detailed the reason on the podcast. “Just me, just trying to get back to like, okay, that was me, that’s who Z Wade is. I know that guy, you know, can make his dream come true by get back to him rather than trying to replicate.”

Looking back at Zaire Wade’s hooping career

Beginning his career alongside Bronny James in Sierra Canyon during their high school days, Z Wade later moved to Brewster Academy, where he developed as a three-star high school athlete. But chose to create his own path and decided to go pro instead of playing college basketball.

His father, Dwyane Wade, represented Marquette Golden Eagles and, in junior year, averaged 21.5 points.

Zaire had even received offers from DePaul, Nebraska, and Rhode Island. Despite offers from college programs, he chose G League, where Salt Lake City Stars, selected him as the 10th overall pick. But the majority of the games he was assigned a bench role and his averages were 3.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Then he moved continents twice in order to keep his dream alive.

From Africa to Asia, the 22-year-old has done it all. But there too, he didn’t achieve much success. For the Cape Town Tigers, he averaged 9.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. Later, he moved to China to represent the Macau Black Bears in The Asian Tournament. As of 2024, he plays for the Macau Black Bears in the ASEAN Basketball League.
