Despite multiple names stirring the pot, the head coach position at the Kentucky Wildcats stays open. Notably, John Calipari stepped down as the head coach of Kentucky’s men’s basketball team recently. While there have been different opinions on different names, John Salley has come up with two contrasting suggestions for the opening.
It is worth mentioning that there were also speculations around Dan Hurley’s name for Kentucky. However, according to TMZ Sports, Salley believes Hurley should rather stay away from this position. He believes Hurley is already in a perfect position with his present team, the UConn Huskies. But he has another name on his mind, which, according to him, can be a good fit for the position.
It is worth mentioning that the reason John Salley thinks Dan Hurley should stick with the Huskies is to win with the team. Notably, the Huskies have won their second consecutive NCAA championship with Hurley as head coach. And Salley can take comfort in the fact that Hurley’s stand on the Kentucky head coach job position has been something similar to his expectations, as he has denied the possibility.

“Oh my God, Kentucky or anywhere that’s going to take her further from New Jersey… I mean, we just went to Rhode Island, which I had to drag her to, and then to Connecticut. I got her closer. And now further? I can’t afford a divorce right now, too. I just started making money.” he stated.
However, on a more serious note, the Huskies head coach expressed his plans to get a three-peat victory for Connecticut. “Now you’re thinking in your brain, as I’m looking at the locker room, about the chance to do it three times, like a dynasty in modern times. I mean, that’s what I’m thinking about,” he said, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
