Things were quite different for the Los Angeles Lakers today in their loss against the Phoenix Suns. The LA unit’s offense took a huge hit as fans reported a lot of missed foul calls on social media. However, in contrast, a former Golden State Warriors star believes the referees were in their right mind today by not favoring the Lakers. This came in a very sarcastic tone from the 39-year-old, though, who blatantly called out the league and Adam Silver for what he believes to be a bias towards the Lakers.
2015 NBA champion Andrew Bogut has never feared voicing out on Twitter. He has been pretty active this season in calling out a lot of players and teams. Well, this time the Lakers fell prey to him. Bogut tweeted, “The @nba has suspended the referees effective immediately,” after the Lakers had only 8 attempted free throws against the Suns today. Surprisingly, this is the fewest free throws attempted by the Lakers in a game since 2021.

Bogut and many in the NBA community believe the league has favored LeBron James and Co. when it comes to giving foul calls. So he mocked the NBA by making the above tweet which could be quite controversial. The Lakers buffs have already started to attack the Warriors champion, but he firmly believes the Lakers are getting away with a lot of unnecessary calls.
However, on the other hand, ‘King’ LeBron James believes that is what their team is best at. He shared his frustration in the post-game interview, which is the talk on the internet.

LeBron James denies free throw narrative, believes the Lakers are best in paint
James was not happy that the Lakers were able to get only 8 free throws in their game today. And disappointingly, they made only 4 out of them. He shared in the post-game interview, “There’s this narrative out there that that’s all we do is get to the free-throw line. I mean, we have attackers, that’s what we do,” accepting that his team is best at getting the calls.

He also added, “We’re not shooting 40-50 3s a game. We’re not that team. We don’t have the luxury of being that team. When we’re getting to the paint, that’s what we’re really good at. So, to have eight free-throw attempts is definitely not us.” Well, Bogut blames the league, while James blames his own team’s gameplay for not getting the foul calls.
