Reggie Miller is loving the vibes at the Madison Square Garden. Despite not being on the list to call the game 2 between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers, the TNT broadcast decided to rope him once again just to keep his rivalry with MSG going. Miller has highlighted his masterclass against the Knicks in 1994 on several occasions. He took advantage of TNT’s decision to show that off once again. However, fans decided to give him a harsh reality check, to put an end to his flex.

Miller, who joined Ernie Johnson for a small talk before the game, said, “There is a lot of history between these two franchises. I’m looking forward to the atmosphere. I know people are going like, ‘Aren’t you worried about going back to New York City and call the game? No! I’ve owned this city. I’ve owned this building. So why would I be worried about walking on out there?”

This cracked up the TNT crew. Miller received a lot of coverage after he made the above words. Even after Jalen Brunson got injured mid-game, the TNT was not giving much updates on the injury. Rather, Miller was the highlight. This annoyed Boston Celtics icon Kendrick Perkins, who wrote on Twitter, Are we going to make this entire game about Reggie Miller? Or can I know if Big Body Brunson is going to return or not? Jesus Christ”

The frustration was the same with the fans. They took it out by giving Miller a reality check on the playoff results from 1994.

“You owned nothing”: Fans did not like the boasting  from Reggie Miller

Miller had one of the best playoff performances during the Eastern Conference Finals between the Pacers and the Knicks. In game 5, he delivered an amazing comeback to mark his place in playoff history. The Knicks had the lead entering the fourth quarter, 70-58. However, no lead is safe against Miller. He heated up in the last quarter to deliver 25 points and also gave the Pacers a 93-86 victory. He also exchanged a few words with director Spike Lee, who has been a fan of the Knicks for several decades. So it’s pretty obvious that the New Yorkers are not a fan of Miller. After he claimed that he owned the building, the netizens on Twitter lost it.

A fan wrote, “Reggie has completely re-written reality in his mind like he didn’t blow that series and have a losing record vs the Knicks”. Although Miller delivered a stellar performance in game 5, the Knicks won the series 4-3 to advance to the Finals. Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley took over in game 7, and Miller was helpless.

TNT wanted game 2 to be a bit dramatic, which is why they went on to pull Miller to call the game, although he was not on the list. Knicks fans did not like it clearly. A fan wrote, “Literally no one cares about him. He just loves making it about himself. Stop giving him the attention he so desperately craves.”

Speaking of owning the MSG, fans had a reply for that as well. A user wrote, “I think early on set dementia might be getting to him. He’s clearly not remembering things correctly”, as he highlighted Miller’s  7-27 record at the Garden.

Moreover, Miller’s overall record against the Knicks was also highlighted to give him a fitting reply. The Pacers legend is 26-41, out of the 67 games he has played against the New York unit.

Looks like it’s high time for Reggie Miller to stop taking shots at the Knicks and Madison Square Garden. Fans even took a dig at his ultimate failure to win a ring in the NBA.
