Carmelo Anthony‘s legacy is in his son, Kiyan Anthony. While obviously, Kiyan hilariously and mercilessly snubbed his dad and declared Paul George as the GOAT, his heartwarming message “Happy Father’s Day, GOAT” for Melo shows his true feelings for the two-time All-NBA Second Team star. Naturally, Kiyan is what Melo cherishes and treasures more than anything else. It’s no wonder that Kiyan and his mother created a special pendant in reciprocation that has two important parts of his legacy, Kiyan and basketball.

As per an Instagram post, a special pendant featuring a sculpture of Kiyan was commissioned by Mazza New York. Anthony’s ex-wife, La La Anthony, also confirmed the purchase by commenting on the post. “This was super, thank u!!!” Anthony, who is active on social media, wrote with fire emojis.

You might spot Melo flaunting it during his appearances at shows and events. However, this is a chance to take a closer look at the pendant. It is a still 3D image sculpture of Kiyan wearing a black ops jersey and holding a basketball, which also rotates. The post is captioned, “Shine bright on and off the court. A quick throwback Thursday to this Custom pendant made for @carmeloanthony. A 3D sculpture pendant of Kiyan, fully iced out in diamonds with a functional moving basketball. A true symbol of style, passion, and art 🏀”

The person holding the pendant claimed that the entire jersey, featuring number 7 – a number Melo wore with the Knicks – is embellished with diamonds.

Carmelo Anthony proudly passes the torch to Kiyan Anthony

After all, it is precious considering how Melo considers Kiyan as his legacy. “My legacy, my son, is in you. I will forever continue through you. ‘Cause the time has come for you to carry this torch. so Ky, chase your dreams, let nothing hold you back, let nothing intervene. My legacy now and forever lives on through you. And I will always be proud at what you do. Peace,” the former Denver Nuggets star said in a video during his retirement in 2023.

Playing on the AAU team earlier, the 17-year-old finally found his true calling as a basketball player. Currently, he’s turning heads with his 42-point performance in the NBPA Top 100. Additionally, ranked as the No. 9 shooting guard in the class of 2025, he envisions a career in the NBA. While he has offers from different programs, including Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, and Tennessee, and his father’s alma mater Syracuse as per 247Sports, the player wishes to visit Auburn, Ohio State, and Indiana.

From La La’s message, we can assume that Melo might have liked the present too. However, it’s unclear whether it’s a birthday gift for the 10-time NBA All-Star, whose birthday was on May 29th, or a Father’s Day tribute. We’ll have to wait until the New York Knicks legend shows it off in public.
