When legends from different sports come together, it’s always a show for the fans. It’s even better if they share a great bond and mutual respect for one another. However, in case of any animosity, fans rarely complain. Seeing alphas from different sports clashing is a uniquely enjoyable event. A similar situation occurred between Charles Barkley and Tiger Woods.

As far as the brotherhood goes, Barkley and Woods used to be very close but over time their relationship grew apart. In a resurfaced clip, the Round Mound of Rebound is seen engaging in hilarious banter with the golf legend.

While Charles Barkley is a Hall of Famer in basketball, Woods is arguably the greatest to ever play golf. As the popular saying goes, greatness recognizes greatness, and Chuck and Mr. T have bonded over their greatness. Regardless of their current status, the love for golf that the NBA athletes have is not a secret to any fan. From the great Michael Jordan to the modern-day great Stephen Curry, some of the biggest names in the NBA have tested their skills on a golf course.

Barkley’s relationship with Woods was going on a decent term. However, it is said that after a bowl of allegations was stormed down on the golf legend, Barkley started to keep a distance.

Although this isn’t verified by either party, the popular notion is based on the timeline of their relationship. Just to give a glimpse of how close they were at one time, a recently resurfaced clip shows Chuck teasing the GOAT. In the clip, Chuck says “Hey Mr. Woods. Hey, do we call you Mr. Woods or Eldrick,” as they both, along with the studio panel, burst into laughter.

Notably, Mr. T’s full name is Eldrick Tont “Tiger” Woods but the world knows him as Tiger Woods.

Chuck’s words don’t land with Tiger

Every sport is more than just what is played on a court or ground. The mental aspect often holds as much weight as the physical.

This further influences the way an athlete thinks, or even speaks. While basketball is a short format, physically taxing sport, golf is often referred to as a game played by gentlemen. So when Chuck was doing the commentary for the 2018 The Match, he used some words that weren’t appropriate for the golf superstar.

Woods had said “There are certain words you can’t use,” expressing his disappointment in the manner that Charles Barkley covered the event.

That wasn’t the first time that Chuck’s tongue got him into hot waters. And it won’t be his last.
